The 105th World Series Championship Series! New York Yankees vs. The Philladelphia Phillies Game 3

The World Series between The New York yankees and The Philadelphia Phillies is all tied up at 1 game a piece!! It now comes down to the best of 3 out of 5!!! We go over to Philadelphia where hopfully game 3 will be able to get played! (Somebody tell us what the weather is doing over in Philly--huh? Does it look playable--or could it be rained out?) Is this the game we will actually see the bats of Ryan Howard and A-Rod do the stuff it been doing all year? Or will pitching continue to be unhittable for each of the opposing teams?

If the game can be play (fingers cross people!!) It will begin at 8 pm EST!

Today's starting pitchers are:

For The NY Yankees--
Adam Rodriguez Pictures, Images and Photos
Andy Pettitte
Who with 16 post season wins, has the most
post season wins then any other pitcher in ML history!

And for The Philly Phillies

Cole Hamel
Who really kind of looks a little old
to be playing the game--doesn't he?

Hey--its my game plan!
Wow Heart you seem to be standing alone with the Yankees here. I'll be a good guy. Go Yankees!!

Okay that was painful. That was your shining moments. I'll still pull for the Phillies. "It ain't over until the fat boy yodels."
I didn't hear who was pitching for Phillies for game 4?
In watching tonight's game I felt that win or lose, Yankee fans were going to get a veteran. Whether Pettitte was good enough or not would be another thing but he was not going to get rattled and get beat through emotion; they would have to beat him with his stuff. It looked like they were going to do just that although he was off his game. I watched in fascination thinking yep, these guys are awesome; they are going to prevail against the Yankee postseason war horse. It was also interesting to watch him go back out and not cough up what was gotten back and keep the lead once it was gained.

Those home runs by Werth were towering however I wonder if the small park may have made them look bigger than they were. Speaking of home runs, it was felt that this Series would be a derby and tonight proved to be the case. It was good to see Swisher, Damon and A-Rod get back up on step. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan follows suit tomorrow albeit against Sabathia. Doesn't Sabathia have to have a bad outing a some point. As a Yankee fan I hope not but the odds might say so.

The home run by A-Rod was interesting for a couple reasons. It helped to show why going over the call again is important and perhaps with this season Bud is going to get more pressure. No doubt the Twins would vouch for it. Another thing I noticed is that the people in the really can affect the game by quickly showing the play over again. You can hear the crowd after MCCarver and Buck have revealed the incorrectness of a call and I think the home run might have been a case in point though Girardi seemed to call it right away. However though, McCarver came right back after it was shown and said "Yes, I think they will rule it a home run" and the umps did. The influence of the booth can never be quantified but I think the booth is helping to make the case for reviewing. To give the umpires credit they have to be right on so many split second plays and we have the luxury of seeing it in slow motion from the comfort of our living room lounge chairs and couches.
