TBD on Ning

My blog is removed from my page: invasion of privacy.

I want to know what people have to say. I write about computers. My article 'Kaspersky Anti Virus Software' was posted on MY PAGE and it is removed by MysticalMaria and Bull from MY PAGE. It is unheard of. It is an invasion of privacy. It means that Bull and MysticalMaria have the right to delete whatever they please including YOUR content. I also need to know if Robin Wolaner is aware of the situation.

lmao!!! Alla, I do believe I've found another friend. :)
I am the only one left out----I am going to call my attorney today---no more fun and games from this blonde chick--I am pissed--

I was given an honorary one at TBD1...I'd be happy to share it with you .
ouuuuuuuh, Can I have those dots of many colors, too? lol
Sounds like we need legal input. Any pro bono workers out there?
It's the next day, Pru, and my mind is more clear now. I understand what you're saying. It makes complete sense to me today. Thanks for the explanation.

I feel the moderators do a great job on TBD. It's a thankless job but someone has to do it. There will be hiccups along the way, but by and large, I really do think they do a fine job.

Perhaps there needs to be a time limit put on it and if the person doesn't see the PM in time, then there's nothing to be done. What's you're thoughts on this, Alla???

I do see your problem. But I also see that you shouldn't have a problem with this in the future because of all the great input here. And I also see that alot of other TBDers will be enlightened to how this all works. I know it's helped me alot.

In social environment it is desirable that people do not give ultimatums to each other. I feel that moderators are brought in because nobody else controls the environment here, on TBD. Guidelines had to be defined. The way guidelines are defined now does not guarantee any resolution of a problem in a civilized manner. On the contrary, it brings more disorder and frustration for members.

What will I do in the future? I will restrict my activity here, on TBD. Why? I do not enjoy the environment. It brings me frustration. I do not deserve this type of attitude.
Alla, I'm sad to hear that. I can understand if you're frustrated and don't enjoy the environment, it may seem like the only solution for you. I hope in time that you will change your mind and try to work within the system to change what you feel is restrictive. :)
Is it possible to have a section of the ning which is akin to the Classified Section of a newspaper? A place where such links and blogs with commercial content could get an airing?

Blondie, what is the problem with TBD people? A great number of my posts don't get a response either but I feel better for having given my input and if people respond to what I post, it is extra. I think of TBD as a place to enjoy reading and commenting. There are so many bright individuals here and hence so much that can be learned. I think as long as one's opinions are given their due right that they are merely opinions, that is as much as one should expect. Disagree with me? - fine. Just tell me why so I can respond in turn by either posting a rebuttal or coming over to your side since you make a stronger argument. Most of my reading and responding is on Tough Questions and the new Sports board but I think this issue here is about tact and manners.

However, I agree with Kitty Kat where the posting of commercial links are concerned; I would think it to be allowed on ones personal page. It does look like mis-communication and misunderstanding yet as Prunella states there needs to be some guidelines as to what constitutes unallowable links.
Hello Apposite. It would appear that we're thinking along the same lines.

When there is a problem, things should be handled the same way everytime. Then there is hopefully less confusion and less miscommunication. But everyone has to be on the same page for that to happen.

I believe that this is a learning process and maybe some of our ideas will be used in the future by our worthy moderators.
Whatever happens next has to be seen. Destroying intellectual property is against the law - that's what happened when my article was deleted. If moderators do not admit this fact, rest assured nothing will help this community.
What I think has to be done:

1. Guidelines have to be re-evaluated and defined further. What is allowed, what is not allowed - has to be sated in clear and concise language.

2. People that are moderators need to have clear understanding of the guidelines and their responsibilities.

3. Bull in particular has to be relieved of being a moderator or sent to a computer school where he can gain basic knowledge and understanding of today's world in terms of computers and web.

If this minimum is accomplished, the TBD community will benefit and flourish.
