The 1st of the month

Are you superstitious? Do you do things a certain way? Tomorrow is September 1st, ledgend has it if the first words out of your mouth on the 1st day of the month are Rabbit, Rabbit good luck will follow you through the month.

I first heard about it about 35 years ago or so and try to do it each month, to be honest I havent noticed any good luck in the months I have said it or bad luck in the months I have missed, I told my kids about it as they were growing up they usually remind me to say it.

What about you? Does anyone do this?

Yes I’m superstitious.
If I spill salt, I always throw it over my shoulder.
But nothing has ever happened to me on a suspect day. Things break on other days.
I don’t like being reminded when Friday the thirteenth arrives, though

I used to work for a pizzeria years back on the opposite side of town where we looked forward to the first of the month, especially if the first fell on Thurs. or Fri., we knew that we would have a busy weekend. We used to refer to it as "Mother's Day" because that was when most of our clientele got their checks.

On the subject of the rabbit's foot...how can that be considered a good luck charm when the poor little rabbit lost its foot? Certainly wasn't a lucky day for the rabbit now was it? If I start the month off with $$$ in my pocket and a beer in my hand, then it will be a good month.

I wonder what kind of luck I'll have when my first words tomorrow morning will likely be, "Fu*k, its morning already."
I think I still have some money in my wallet, but I may skip the beer, TSD. Maybe I'll do a burrito on the way to work tomorrow at o'dark thirty.

I will do it. My life can't get any worse than it is right now. At least I don't think so.
