By doing...what, exactly ? Making sure that those businesses weren't dumping poisons in the watershed ? Making them pay a living wage ? Making them pay their fair share in taxes ?

The city found out Del Monte accidentally washed beans down the sewer pipes. They raised their sewer and water rates so high they could no longer make a (forbidden) profit.

They told our mushroom factory how much money they have to pay their workers. They could not afford to stay in business with all of the regulations and payroll. They closed their doors.

The got rid of Deluxe Ice cream. Reason: They told them to expand but they had no room to expand and could not afford new property. They moved (joke) to California.

They used Boise Cascade for bills that the city had. They would go in a find a reason to fine them for the same amount the city owed.

Birds Eye was fined every visit and were unable to make ends meet here.

Don't panic, we have MC Donald’s that is going robot because of the minimum wage.

Gould Batteries closed because our city geniuses found out they used lead. They failed to issue a permit for (GOD forsaken) lead. My buddy had 6 month's for retirement. He now scrubs toilets and waxes floors.
