How much sleep do you get a day..in general?

Do you nap regularly or just occasionally?

Do you have a bedtime schedule you try to keep? or whenever?

A wakeup time...or whenever?

I've been so scheduled to my work for years, always up at 6 and to bed by 11 or so...I really don't need to keep those hours anymore...has been a habit though..

Just wondering?

absolutely NOT! human meds can be toxic to dogs. many of those lead to liver failure

your best bet is to get some tramadol or rimadyl from the vet.

Didn't know that , sorry .

We have our GSD on it; He's almost 11, and the hip dysplasia that plagues GSD's is starting to kick in with him.

It's strong stuff - Considered a controlled substance. Prescription very necessary.

I have doggy tramadol here just in case.  My dog has limped, but since I started daily glucosamine , she is much better.  Her advantange is the she is not heavy--about forty pounds only, so I think that's why it works for her joints. And still, some days she pulls this or hurts that, and a tramadol at least calms her down a bit. She is ansty, runs, and that's what causes the problems.

Wayne, on my vet's instructions, he gets a baby aspirin twice a day. It helps, but his hind quarters just aren't as strong as they used to be. She also gave him a prescription for tramadol for particularly bad days. I sure hope they help him more than they did me; the bottle my dr gave me for my arthritis is sitting in my medicine cabinet. M & M's would do as much good. I don't know how I'm going to get him to the vet once he can't jump into the truck anymore. As it is...if the truck isn't up next to a curb, he can't jump in. I know how he feels; there will come a day when I can't get into that truck. I sure miss my Corolla.

Two people would have to do it, Karin, with a blanket as a sling.  My husband used to fold up my big dog's back legs under him somehow to push him into the car when he was having a difficult time.

I try to be in bed by 10.   I usually get up with my husband at 4am, we walk the dog, he heads off to work and after my daughter leaves for school I will take a nap (winter)  It's easier to stay awake in the summer.  Sometimes I have been in bed by 8.  It just depends on what my body is telling me.
