TBD on Ning

I just met two of my neighbors yesterday. I've seen them but never talked to them.  I have only lived here for a couple of years.  My husband has lived here for about 10 (2nd marriage for both of us).  He didn't even really know them, now that's sad.   So how well do you know your neighbors?

The people on each side of me and across the street all moved in when I did. Over 24 years ago when our houses were brand new. We watched our kids grow up here and now have grandkids. I know them pretty well but since my divorce ten years ago I haven't been as social with them as the old days. We all look out for one another and help with things when needed.

Very well.  We all come to each other's birthday parties and rotate parties at Xmas, Halloween, Oktoberfest, New Years, etc...

When I lived in the same house in OH for 20 years, I knew many on the block, and was best friends with next door neighbors. Since I moved to FL about 5 years ago, sadly, I talk sometimes talk to the people across the street, but we don't really socialize. There is a guy a few doors down that I occasionally catch and we can talk for an hour or so in his driveway, but, again, not really socializing. The neighbors on one side are renters and don't really communicate other than Hi. Neighbors on the other side are bat shit crazy and their yard is the eye sore of the whole neighborhood. (in FL. the grass grows like crazy in the summertime, and time I cut my grass about once a week, they cut their front yard about once a year)

The Preacher acrost the road is selling in abuot 2 yaers Bubba. How abuot you and DeeBubbaTee buying his place? oooh we would have fun. bring Diego of course!

As much as I would LOVE to have you for a neighbor, your area is too chilly for me. (and by chilly I mean too damn cold!)

snow bird...snow bird...snow bird...spring, summer and fall are wonderuos here...

I'm wearing shorts, and have a fan in the window trying to cool off the house. Call me snow bird if ya want to, but I grew up in the shadow of Pikes Peak, and then spent 30 years in NE Ohio. Loved that crap when I was a kid, but i'm not a kid anymore. (OK, the body isn't a kid anymore, but the head still is)

I'm jealous!  2 below here again.

I didn't meen snowbird as a insult Bubba! Hell I would do it if finances permitted smoooch

Here at My Warrior's Place where we have been staying since Ed had such a hard recovery from his 2nd by-pass , we have gotten to know our neighbors well. They have been so good to us and we have reached out to help them. It is a small community of vets.   But normally I am not that out-going. I tend to mind my own business.  We are moving to our new house this month sometime and I hope to be friendly with my neighbors as I get to know them.  Won't hurt to be friendly now will it?

i had a friend who followed that love thy neighbor rule...her husband didn't seem to like it tho...

Yeah, it didn't work for my dad either.
