so who's goin fishin ?? the playoffs start today

well its that time of year.. the nfl playoffs .. this is what all the teams strive for .. you can be 16 and 0 and you lose one game in the playoffs and its all over .. you get to go fishin .. so what do you think about the matchups this weekend ?? any thoughts ??

first up is the kansas city chiefs and the indy colts.. both teams are 11 and 5 .. the chiefs have scored more points this season than the colts and have given up less but the chiefs have been on a losin streak as of late .. the last time these two teams met the colts spanked the chiefs pretty good .. they turned the ball over 4 times .. and the chiefs were at home .. yet the chiefs are favored by 2 and a half points .. and they're playin in indy .. perhaps the chiefs will have better luck in indy but .. i'd take the colts and the 2 and half points ..

next is the philly eagles and the new orleans saints .. in philly .. where its gonna be cold as a witches tit .. the eagles are 10 and 6 and the saints are 11 and 5 .. the eagles have scored a little more but the saints have a little stingier defense .. the eagles are favored in this one by 2 and a half and bein in philly in the cold i think it will come down to the runnin game .. if the saints can run the ball then they have a shot .. they play this game pretty much after the sun goes down so its gonna be brutal .. the eagles have been playin better than the saints these last few weeks and thats the key here .. the one thing that ticks me off about this one is the saints have the better record ..and they have to go to philly cause they were the division winner .. somehow that ain't right .. if you have a better record then the road should go thru you not the other way round .. and that might be the difference here .. if this game was in new orleans i'd say the saints all the way .. but its not . so .. against my better judgement .. i'll take philly and give the 2 and a half points .. what say any of you guys ??

I agree 100%. My younger son gets so emotionally involved in whether or not his Bears win.....his wife avoids him for the rest of the day. Oh, he doesn't get violent or anything.....but he becomes a "bear" to be around. She's glad the Bears didn't make it to the play-offs; football season, for her, is over. I can hear her sigh of relief from here. ;-). I like to watch some sports just for the athletism.....like gymnastics and downhill skiing in the Olympics.....but if I have no interest in who wins a football game.....well, that's just it......I have no interest. Sometimes I will root for the underdog, just to have someone to pull for.

I used to watch football but I got tired of it I guess. I haven't watched a game or even followed the teams in years. I started watching with my Dad about the time the Superbowl got started. Of course I'm sure I will go to a Superbowl get together but it's just an excuse to do something with some folks.
I think I will enjoy the beginning of season four of Downton Abby tonight just as much....woo hoo!

well the first round of the playoffs is over with .. the chiefs are gone .. by one point .. and they were the last undefeated team in the regular season .. it just goes to show its not how well you're playin in the begginin of the year as it is at the end of the year .. injuries and new coachin plans and new guys in the rotation all play a big part ..so the colts advance  

the eagles are gone too .. by 2 points .. and they were playin so well towards the end of the year .. but just 2 points away from well enough .. maybe next year .. so the saints go marchin on 

and the biggest surprise to me was the chargers .. so far they are the biggest cinderella team of the bunch .. they knocked off the cinninati bengals and did it handily .. sure took me by surprise .. but they're playin well now .. and this is the time to be playin well .. their quarterback rivers said well we been in playoff mode of do or die since the month of december began .. every game we played for the last 5 weeks was a must win game or we went fishin .. so they're motivated and focused .. they know what they have to do .. no room for error .

and last is the packers .. this just wasn't their year .. it wasn't meant to be .. the fact that they even got to the playoffs was a gift .. to be 8 and 7 and 1 .. and then to get homefield too .. eeeeeeee.. and they made the most of it .. only lost by a field goal .. so they did good for what they had to work with .. so the 49ers advance .. next week it gets tougher ..

Well I know no one cares about the Northwest  (but I'm stuck here for a while)  But the Seahawks have done great!!  Bring it on St's!!

well its saturday and we get another treat .. 2 playoff games today .. and two more tomorrow .. today its the seattle seahawks at home against the new orleans saints .. the seahawks have a great defense and like vince lombardi always used to say defense wins games .. does it win today ?? well the saints can score a lot of points and i'm still not completely sold on the seahawks just yet .. they are at home tho and the saints don't play all that well on the road .. the spread is 8 points .. gonna be a lotta ifs in this one but if the saints can run the ball then their passin game will open up .. if that happens then they have a chance .. a couple of turnovers goin their way would help too .. if not then take the seahawks and give the 8 points .. could be a long hard day for the saints .. and they are a good team too .. but if seattle is as good as i've heard they are .. then the saints won't look that good today ..

next game up is the new england patriots at home against the indy colts .. the patriots are favored by 7 .. this should be a good close game .. and if they played it 5 times in a row it would be back and forth .. but i think the pats have enough firepower to pull this one out .. but not by 7 .. more like 4 or 5.. but what do i know ?? its a good thing i don't do this for a livin .. cause if i did they'd have to make me an announcer .. they never or should i say they halfway get it right .. the bookies tho .. they have to get it right .. at least most of the time anyway .. so their job is harder ..

I couldn't watch the game tonight.  I figured it was going to be a nail biter too and I really didn't feel up to chewing my nails.  I watch Indy win by one last week, so, like you Frenchy I figured it was going to be close.  I knew the Pat's took an early lead so I turned the game on but then saw that Indy was gaining so I turned it off and finally just went to bed.  Here I am now and I see it was 43 to 22, and all I can say is wow!  Didn't see that coming, but glad that it did.

Being the party animal I am, what's up with the Velveeta shortage...and it's the folks in the Northeast that aren't going to have queso dip for the Superbowl if ya'll don't slow down!
Might want to think about some Ranch or good ole fashioned Onion Dip for all these other in- between games...just sayin'. You're gonna miss it when it's gone.
