My horses love it.  They put on quite a show when I go to feed them.  last night Mariah (the pick pocket) grabbed my hat off my head and took off running with it.  She wouod stop to to see if I was going to give chase ( hmm, you never do that with a horse) and the take off again.  Finally the food out weighedd the hat game and she dropped it at the very far end of the pasture and came running in the barn.  It was hilarious!!

Dwalt. Why do you keep horse?  Is it that you just love them or do you board them?

No, I have two and have had a horse since I was 3 years old.  We have gorgerous trails up here and to go riding is my passion.  They are expensive though.  Crest I can go to the barn and tell them all my gripes and Mariah just eats and nods her head like she knows exactly what I'm saying.  I can't expalin it but they make my heart feel good after a long days work

So  you just love them.  Believe me, I totally understand.  But I was thinking of the expense.  You must have a big place up there where you live.  I live in suburbia.

I live out side of a town by Mt Rainer with a popualtion of about 600.  I live on an acre and 1/2 but my neighbor (a pasture away) hav 5 acres and a barn.  I keep them there. It is a really cool barn.  Has a bar upstairs with a pool table, pot bellied stove, darts....  Parties have been had there!!

Playing with pets is such a fun thing, yours are much bigger Dwalt. I do understand, we keep horses at the ranch although we don't own them, when we lived there we kept an eye on them and did many rescues, the elk would knock out a fence somewhere and the horses will find a way to get out. My husband and I would round them up and bring them back. We have three different people pasturing horses now.

HAHA....thanks for that story...I love to hear about animals with such great personalities! After Thanksgiving with family  in 2 different places in Ohio, Bill and I took our dogs (4 between us. I have ANOTHER dog but my daughter takes her about everywhere she goes including work) up to his house which is near my aunt's lake cottage and just let them run up and down the street and along the lake. (well, EVERYONE except my beagle who tends to "disappear" for hours. She remained on a leash. There are only a few permanent residents and NO car traffic. Its a dirt road along the bay (Lake Erie and some woods. ANYWAY....my great dane/boxer runs and leaps like she is having the time of her life. She appears to FLY through the air like a reindeer (she is that color). THEN she was SO excited to discover that where she once used to swim, she can WALK across as it is FROZEN. My little rat terrier follows her and SHE sometimes HOPS like a rabbit. Its so funny watching them!! They also enjoyed trying to walk on the ice and try to GET the seagulls in which there were hundreds.
