I used to watch a series on Showtime called The Big C about a woman with cancer. Once she went off on a boat called Esperanza, Hope in Spanish.
If I had a boat, I would name it Esperanza.
Cool ...
Damn Dell !!
Now I've got to think of another name for a boat......should I ever own a boat.
I have a little john boat and a canoe...no names for either.
My mother & stepfather had a boat for many years, I learned then that it really was a hole in the water that you pour money into. I love being out on the water but not enough to buy a boat. Theirs wasn't that big a 35" but whoa the expense!
I won't have to think of a name if I don't have one.
I've heard very often that the best days in boat ownership are the day people buy them or the day they finally sell them. Lots of expenses, from what I hear from others, but, to me, there is no place else to be than on the water or in the woods, or on the water in the woods. Or at the beach, or wherever.
Boils down to an expensive hobby I would think ...
It doesn't have to be so expensive. My Dad bought a fancy shmancy bass boat with all the bells and whistles...depth finder and other gigigoos...about a $1,0000 a year to maintain...the most expensive fish in the world have been caught on that boat.
I paid a $100 for my john boat. I lost an oar and had to replace it and every two or three years I have to paint it..about $50...same with the canoe.
I have lake access at my Mom's and keep them there. I like being on the water and do a little fishing with the nephews and nieces...works for me and my need to be on the water and the need to keep things simple.
