Have you ever relocated and started over?  Would you consider doing it now?

A witness protection thing no doubt.

You heading to Florida?

I moved from Houston to the Seattle area several years ago. Did not know anyone, didn't have a job, and stayed semi lost (that goodness they invented gps) for about a year. Got a job the 3rd day I was here and it was a great experience for me. That being said it's not for everyone. I got lucky and was 10 years younger.

The closest I've come to relocating was moving from one community to another within Queens which is still in NYC. This area is noted its Hispanic population but since I moved here the population has become more Asian. I've thought about selling the house and downsizing but I don't relish the thought of starting over in a new area where I don't know any one and where I'm not familiar with the resources.

I've done this so many times in my life and really only "considered doing it" once, so if it happens again, I'll be ready for it.

Well, I relocated about 4-1/2 years ago - a whole whopping 22 miles. I just got sick and tired of commuting and wanted to be closer to work.  I found a place that is (according to Mapquest) 1.3 miles from my home.  I walk to work when time permits.  Best decision I've made in a long time.

And I guess most of us here have "started over".  Tough times in the beginning, but I'm really happy now!

From California to Tennessee, I would move back if s/o would !

Hi Maria.  It's so nice when we move somewhere and really like it.  I feel that way about MD.  I wouldn't leave, as much as I complain about the winters.
