TBD

TBD on Ning

So here we are looking around, taking a peek... hanging out.

On some thread a bit ago, some one said how annoying the FB was with all the trivial updating goings on.

Personally, I don't think my daily updating is all that interesting but some times I really feel the need to share.  My kitties don't give a whit and the bird...well, he lives in his own world.  His updates would mostly involve "lived another day"..."got some of that shredded stuff again (cheese)"  etc.

Mostly, I have you fine folks to droll on about my meager existence and occasional moments of wonderful.

So, here you go...Keep it brief...mundane with a bit of intrigue.

Needed to buy 6 more dollars of groceries before end of month to save 10 cents a gallon on gas.

We have fleas, spent yesterday hunting them down and getting rid of them. I even put borax in my couch under the freshly laundered cover in between the cushions. That's supposed to repel them. I've had dogs with the occasional flea but they were never that bad because the dogs enjoyed getting vacuumed. Go figure.

Been there done that Merry, thankfully not for a long time.

My big deal now is working on my 1995 Honda Civic. I knew fro the git go that working on an 18 year old car would be a challenge, but...

I've got at least 18 or 20 hours involved so far, and I'm in a deeper hole than when I started. I tracked down a water leak to the sunroof, which means I pulled out the back seat, all of the seat beats, all of the trim including the back seat arm rests, dome light, grab bar, visers, all the trim around the headliner, rear view mirror, etc so I could pull the head liner. Then things got complicated!! The glass for the sunroof fell out of the metal frame, the "tar goop" that held the glass in is still under my fingernails a week later.(had the grandson and great nephew for days so couldn't make any progress) Tried regluing rubber trim around the metal frame, but NOOOOO. Bought glue at Home Depot that was supposed to adhere to practically anything, but specifically listed metal and rubber. Stuck like hell to the metal but not so much to the rubber trim. Spent an hour sanding and cleaning the glue from the metal frame, and THEN when I started cleaning the glue from the rubber trim, the damn rubber just started falling apart in my hand. New parts for this sunroof are nonexistent. Complete sunroofs can be ordered, but at a cost I can't deal with. Not sure what I'm gonna do now.

Rant to be continued.

you can always make it work.

I agree flipper, anything is possible. Doesn't mean it's gonna be easy. :-(

need some wood?

Need 1995 rubber trim around a sunroof. (the metal frame and the glass too) As far as I can tell, the trim can't be ordered without ordering the entire sunroof glass. Waaay more money than I want to spend. And I'm afraid that anything in a junkyard will be in the same condition as the one that is falling apart in my hands,

maybe just weld a metal plate over the sunroof and bondo the sh*t out of it.jus' spitballin',you know, throwin some ideas out there.wish I could be more help.it'll keep rattling around.

I want to see a car done entirely in duct tape!!!!!

I have seen cars with the entire interior done in duck tape.

It's just a modern miracle of science. Men and their tape!!
