O'Reilly, like most conservative pundits, depends upon the cult of personality to add weight to what he knows are his own indefensible statements.

If O'Reilly dared to put the hard numbers that he uses to bolster his concepts down in black and white on paper, where they could be compared and studied and, if necessary, disproven through objective analysis, he wouldn't be taken so seriously.

But that's NOT what he does - He deliberately distorts and omits inconvenient statistics, and replaces them with self-righteous indignation and heavily-slanted "objective" opinionating, stoking the same responses in other privileged-but-even-MORE-ignorant viewers. Just because he's not as out-there as Glenn Beck or other foaming-at-the-mouth doomsayers, doesn't mean that he isn't using the same tactics - He just dials them down a bit, and then pretends that he's the one being "reasonable" and less "over-reactive".

Using a raving dipshit like Glenn Beck as your yardstick for "intelligent discourse" is a playing a rigged game from the get-go. O'Reilly, like most right-wing pundits, is an expert at disingenuousness, denialism and obfuscation, and is so arrogant that he really doesn't notice that more and more people are noticing the way he constantly changes the field markings depending on the topic he's addressing.

I wonder how you would respond if the name of the person that wrote this wasn't known or a Liberal wrote it . It's easy to judge because a such and such person wrote it ...

Good question Wayne

The whole point is that all the problems exist in all the races, it isn't about race or color of skin, there are white women who do the same look at Octo mom how stupid was that and with a doctors help.  I see many black families now and the kids are in college or graduating from college, I see many white families who are trying to go along with the no education program because it's what the politicians where they are from are telling them.

We each make decisions about our and our children's future and it is not based on hair color or skin color, it's mostly based on what we choose to believe in and who we choose to listen to.

Crest, I couldn't agree more.  These people breed to get a pay check.  Sorry I get up at 4:00 5 days a week and bust my rear to take care of myself.  I don't want to be paying for people that do this.

I don't think that's what the girls meant, Dwalt--they are, after all, working hard--my daughter knows them from work. It's the concept that babies babies babies, whether married or not married, whether a father is in the picture or not, it's babies babies babies.  When we started "allowing" this, we made it OK for it to continue. But what can the government do--turn it's back on children?  What a mess.

But I think it was careless and cavalier attitude to think it's OK to have a baby without regard to who's responsibility it is to make sure it is clothed and fed and has medical care.  If you can't afford to have a baby, don't PLAN to have one because the state will take care of it.

Sometimes I think that there's a component to this that we're missing - That it's not just a welfare scam, but the result of people who have been down and out since birth themselves, to the extent that they have a severely depressed sense of the value of any human life at all, their own or their childrens.

Having five or six kids when you have no job or aspirations in life isn't part of a criminal mastermind's cunning scheme to defraud hard-working taxpayers - It's a way of life they were condemned to before they were even born, and they think they're just going along with the flow.

snagg i agree with you .. and thats what i was sayin .. maybe not in the same words you used but that was the gist of it all .. so how do we change that ?? its that mindset .. if they don't believe in the idea that they can have a better life and want to go contrary to the way things work how do we convince them that havin 6 kids is not goin along with the flow .. that gettin an education is the better way .. and not emulatin gangsta's and rappers as if its all some movie .. i think hollywood is partly to blame as well as the music industry for perpetuatin that image .. that image that they all wanna aspire to .. i'll agree that art imitates life but it's also life that imitates art .. in a way they're givin the people what they want but is it what they really need ?? its kinda like ciggarettes and high fructose corn syrup .. they're legal and they'll both kill you if you take em long enough .. i'm not crazy about bill oriley either but even a blind squrril will find a nut from time to time and i guess it was his turn . i'm not in favor of the way he worded it all but he had some valid points .. you're right its not a crime or some criminal master plan if you have no job or aspirations in life .. but thats where the problems come in .. i got no job and no skills and no dreams of ever gettin outta here so i guess i'll just have 6 kids ?? thats what i think needs to change .. and its not only for black people but all people who have no aspirations and no skills .. lets see what kinda skills we can help em get .. give a man a fish and you feed em for one day , but teach a man to fish and you feed em for life ..

dwalt, the people who profit from "those people" 's being belittled and marginalized are the same people who see to it that you work shit hours and get paid shit to take care of them. They KNOW that, this way, you resent "those people" and not the ones doing the actual string-pulling.

It's like Walmart - Walmart calls the very employees whom they treat like shit, "lazy bums" and "welfare cheats", while seeing to it that those "lazy bums" and "welfare cheats" can't get a decent-paying, production-line union job in America by shipping those potential jobs off to China.

walmart also hands out printed sheets to their employees with the information on how to sign up for food stamps, section 8 housing, and all other forms of public assistance so they can get the government to subsidize them having employees.....

and thats somethin that should change too problem .. places like walmart gettin the gubment to pickup the check for them .. how i'm not sure .. but what i wonder is who the congressman is gonna be who goes first in sayin this has to change ..

White women and black women that have 4, 5 or more kids on welfare getting more money than the average worker per month . Why would they want to work . They even have a no count boyfriend shacking up living off her and kids suffer . Just a slap in the face to honest workers . I can't work anymore but I'm not on welfare either . May come to that when Bumma care starts .
