every now and then you'll hear a song that sounds so much like someone else that the roots just can't be denied .. this is a perfect example of just that .. maybe just a little bit of the band too .. but the van morrison can't be denied ..but i should probably leave it for vickie to decide cause she's the van morrison expert .. so what say you vickie ??

I think you nailed it Frenchy.  You can definitely here the VM and The Band influence...even some of the riffs (not sure I am using this term correctly) sound like they come straight of of VM and The Band tunes.

No doubt about the Van Morrison influence....the phrasing of the lyrics especially.
You sure Van didn't write the music and the lyrics? Smile....

I like, I like....Good find Frenchy...thanks!

Lots of stuff on youTube....I will listen to some more....

i'm glad you like it vickie .. i heard that song and it made me think of you ..

As soon as I heard the first few bars, I heard in my head "Pulled in to Nazareth...".

Crest...for me it was Van Morrison all the way. For me, he has such a signature sound...ya know...he has a lousy voice but ya can't get enough and you just wanna listen to it.
But I have listened to some of his other stuff...lots of other influences too.

I heard the Van Morrison cadence as well.  I love him.  Sail into the mystic--one of my favorite inside my head escape songs ever! And Crazy Love...And Tupelo Honey. He is one of my Pandora stations.  Now I have to figure out how to get Pandora into my car.

It's nice to hear Van the Man's influence in younger musicians...So many kids only want to imitate what the current trends may be, as a shortcut to success - And Morrison was never a BIG success, so his greatness gets ignored or buried under bigger, more famous acts.

I think that you can spot something valuable in an artist who has something deeper in them that can be touched by a true artist like Morrison; And while I normally don't care for Ryan Adams, I've come to realize that there are some pearls hidden in the torrent of material he releases. (What that kid needs more than anything else is a good editor, someone unafraid to explain to him that he shouldn't release EVERYTHING  he records.)

As for the Morrison-ish phrasing combined with the Band's "I pulled into Nazareth" musical progression...Why not BOTH ?

Yes! We agree, Snaggeeee!  Holy Shit!
