so , anybody hear about this soccer ref in brazil ??

ok lets face it , sometimes we watch a football game and get pissed by a call a ref makes and we shout at the tv screen or if we're in the stands we'll get up and boo ... same for a basketball or baseball game .. don't ask me about hockey cause after all these years i still don't understand it .. they give these guys sticks and they fight all the time but never use their sticks ?? i went to the fights one night and a hockey game broke out .. anyway back to my story .. i know we can sometimes take sports too seriously .. i used to a long time ago .. not anymore .. the better team will usually win , sit back enjoy the contest and the strategy of it all .. but this soccer thing i just found out about is just crazy .. i mean batshit crazy .. it seems that the ref for this amateur game made a call one guy didn't like and they had words so he kicked him outta the game as refs do if you piss em off sometimes so the player hit the ref .. so then the ref stabbed the player and thats when it got really crazy .. the fans stormed the field and tied the ref up and stoned him to death .. and then they dismembered him or as they said they quartered him .. and then beheaded him and put his head on a stick and stuck it in the middle of the field .. i think they called the game off after that .. amateurs huh ??   so,, do you think we take sports too serious ??

Oh my god ... the ref stabbing a spectator was bad enough, but beheaded and quartered?  (Scratching Brazilian soccer game off the bucket list ...)

The only sports player I ever considered a hero was and is Pat Tillman, who gave up the money and the fame to serve his country and was killed by friendly fire as a reward.

This sounds like a scene from a book I read on the Taliban in Afghanistan, only it wasn't the ref and they did it in the name of Allah, instead of the sport.  This is just sick.

you don't remember the soccer war between el salvador and honduras? they had issues that boiled over because of the world cup matches....

I can get fired up a bit especially from bad ref calls. I can see kicking him in the shins a few times and a knee to the crotch but these guys in Brazil are more into it than I am I think.

We're going to have the olympics there soon aren't we? Wonder what will happen......

oh there was the case of the russian kids (in moscow i think it was) who were using a homeless guys severed head for a soccer ball......see what happens when the municipal sports league doesn't invest in equipment?
