well havin lived in jersey and new york and havin a sister who lived in pa. for about 28 years after also livin in jersey and n.y. and havin an ex girlfriend who also lived in jersy and florida and tenn and back to florida and back to tenn and back to florida again and an ex wife who lived in jersy and has now moved to pa .. well jersy is a nice state but way too expensive to retire in . n.y ain't any better , upstate n.y might be better but i'm not sure .. pa is a bit better which is why my ex moved there from jersey .. tenn i heard is good but my ex girlfriend came back to florida .. twice .. after hearin how wonderful tenn is and her tryin to get me to move there for a couple of years she finally went and wasn't happy .. but then i'm not all that surprised cause she was never happy anyway no matter where she was so tenn is still a question mark to me .. seems like it could be a nice place tho ..my sister just sold her place in pa and is movin to south carolina .. i told her a couple of days ago jean i don't think you're movin far enough south .. we'll see how that goes ..  i been in florida for almost 25 years now and its home .. it has its good and bad points .. its africa hot here in the summer . but it rains every .. damm .. day.. which does cool things off somewhat .. as hot as it gets and as hot as it seems ( two different things . we have a thing called the humiture down here which means how hot it actually feels cause of the humidity ) it never goes above 99 .. with the humiture ?? who knows ? you go outside and it feels like a big fat dog breathin on ya .. but the early mornins are nice and it lets up a bit after 4 or 5 especially if its already rained .. but in the mornins if you're gonna go for a walk be back by 10 am .. of course thats why they invented a/c .. just like up north you huddle around the radiator when its 12 degrees outside down here you make sure you have a nice vent or a ceilin fan nearby when it gets hot .. we're setup for it down here .. you drive your air conditioned car to the air conditioned store .. back to your air conditioned house or the air conditioned where ever you're goin .. but that kinda weather only lasts from the end of may till the end of sept.. the rest of the year is pretty nice .. so while everybody up north is shovelin 18 inches of partly cloudy from their driveway to get someplace we're gettin a high of 76 and wakin up to 63 degrees.. so whats that worth in taxes and ins. which incidentally our taxes are pretty low and no state income tax .. our house insurance is a big scam tho .. i'd love to find the guy in charge of that and strangle him for about a good 5 minutes .. so in conclusion i'd say florida is the number one destination for retirement for a lot of good reasons .. if you don't mind the heat in the summer ( but thats what they made a/c and everybody has it now .. not like 1950 when it was just a select few ) and the up the gazoo house ins. rates .. so soon as you retire come on down .. everybody comes to florida to retire .. its the law now i think ..

I am a warm weather girl. As a kid growing up I did the cold weather and snow, told myself not where I want to live. I moved  to Florida from Germany, when My Dad retired from the military...stayed long enough to do college...moved to Arizona. I lived there for almost 25 years. I really liked living there, similar to Florida but no humidity and no bugs. What I missed was the ocean and my family...my siblings were having families and I was missing the nieces and nephews growing up.I also developed a serious illness and I needed the family.  So here I am. It's my home now. It took me a few years to settle back in as a grownup, but I think I'm in as good a situation for retirement here then anywhere else.
