The less I want to share.  Don't get me wrong, ask and I'll give you the shirt off my back.  I just don't "share" well any more. I don't like to "loan" my stuff out either.  Any one else feel this way?

This hasn't hit me yet, I'm perfectly willing to let people have or use whatever. I found that I don't care much about stuff anymore and don't care if I get things back if I've loaned them out. If someone keeps it I guess they need it more than I do. I'm not being altruistic either, just got tired of too much stuff.

Like I said, tell me you need something I will be happy to give it to you (with in reason) I just don't like loaning my stuff out.

yep, been there too with the money thing.  (yes, it was a relative) What brought this up is a person asked if he could ride my horses and I said no.  He got really mad and isn't speaking to me now.  (I don't really care)  too much liability for me and I don't want my horse used by any one but me.

A horse is a person! you can't loan a person....That guy was was extremely rude to even ask!

Thanks, thats how I feel too.

There are plenty of places people can pay to ride horses. I don't blame you for that dwalt...it's crazy to take the responsibility for someone falling off the dang thing. I wouldn't care if he was pissed off either, tell him to use his brain and think about it.

I can be a very giving person however, im not a very good "sharer". I blame it on my brother (or my parents) for being born 5 years after I settled into my ONLY child status. LOL. As far as lending something OUT, I dont lend it unless I dont CARE if I  NEVER get it back. BUT, I usually DO!

i dunno but .. i always liked a woman who would give me the shirt off her back .. my very best favorite kind ..

haha...

Definitely, I don't share my shirts...dont think you would look good in floral shirts anyway, Frenchy....LOLOLOL!!!

i didn't say i wanted to wear it .. i just wanted them to.. NOT WEAR IT ..

It may be true that older people share less except when it comes to opinions and when it comes to giving outright it is usually advice. :-)  I loan out some things selectively as others here. A relative uses a gas-powered water pump of mine once or twice a year to refill/redo his fishpond but he changes the oil once a year. I do let a farmer or two use one of my farm roads to access some other land. I pay an extra $100/year on my home insurance for liability incase. One used to give me a half gallon of maple syrup every year and the other I had disk up one of my garden areas one year, but the last couple of years nothing.  Neighbor politics is another thread, but it is similar to international politics. If you let me use your country to launch airstrikes, I will give you a great deal on some military aid in the way of new fighter jets.
