I live in 3 rooms right now.  I have use of the house upstairs if I choose, but I like my private area.  I don't need a lot of rooms.  But I do like my rooms to be large.  If I won a lottery, I would build me a house with only 5 rooms....kitchen, dining room, living area, and two bedrooms (one to use as a guest room/office).  But I would like an open floor plan with the kitchen/living area.  And a deck to look out onto the water (did I mention the house would have to be by the ocean?).  Any more would be more to clean than I'd like, and it costs more to heat and cool.

My little cottage in Indiana was only 4 relatively small rooms.  I managed quite well.  It was about 720 sq. ft.  Only thing I didn't like was there was no room for a table in the kitchen.

kitchen tables are overrated, mine just gets in the way,i never use it.

yeah i don't have a kitchen table either . it wouldn't fit in my kitchen .. i have what you'd call a one butt kitchen .. if i want formal dinning i can go out on my deck .. which is just a fancy way of sayin my porch .. i coulda said the veranda and i sometimes do .. but basicly its just a wood deck i put up myself .. and it serves its purpose .. on one side of the house i put a roof over it to keep the rain and sun off but in the backyard you're out under the stars and sun .. i had a big umbrella for the table but it finally wore out .. i should get another one .. cause in the summer i can get hot out there .. in the winter who needs it .. it never rains or gets too hot.. usually .. anyway .. to be honest i don't need a big house .. i do ok where i am .. but it would be nice to have a bigger place for entertainin sometimes .. if people come over we have to go outside to change our minds it gets so tight in there .. of course havin 50 guitars all over the place don't help much but i'm workin on that ..

my house

Your house looks like a blue version of my little yellow house in Indiana. It's really cute. I still look at my little house every time I go up there.....and resent the fact that someone else is in my house.

Cute house.

it survived Superstorm Sandy,it's tougher than it looks...it's Jersey strong.

The house i rent was built in 1950 . It has a small Kitchen . Not much room for a Kitchen table . I put my Washer and Dryer in there and use my table to throw clothes on . Has two bed rooms . And a Living room about 15X17 . About a year ago i hauled my Sofa and Loveseat to the dump . Moved my Bed , Computer , Small dorm refrigerator , Microwave in Living room . This is where i live . I also have a 42 inch Vizio TV for my Computer Monitor and a 47 inch Vizio on top of Computer desk . Coffee maker Printers as well . It serves my purpose . Don't use either bedrooms . Use kitchen some and bathroom . Works for me . Rent is 300 per month ....

Well one of my back bedrooms is home of two push mowers . I would buy a riding mower if it would fit between the drawers . I keep them there so they won't walk off ...People steal .....

A lot would depend on windows...I LOVE windows!! Not particurly found of very large houses though i've lived in a couple when I was married. The old lady I live with lives in a half a million dollar house but everything "we" need is on the main floor and I have the whole upstairs to myself though I have everything I need in a large bedroom, including the bathroom.  When I picture my "dream house", its's a cute little cottage with a screened in/glassed in porch, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a definitely a yard but not necessarily a large one....just a little wooded and place for bird feeder. Since kitchens happen to come with houses, I guess I will have a small one....enough to make basic stuff.
