Let's just say it's symbolic, irritating and meant to speak to a constituency that the administration has tried to marginalize, and has to a degree done successfully.  In the meantime, this keeps ObamaCare in the headlines, gins up the opposition and sets the table for the fall, and yes, it is politics, or not.

...can we just say those idiots are wasting tax payers money and time to fix real problems?

They just keep playing to there extreme right wing base when they need to try to help the country. Any brave republican would leave the party and become an independent. But sadly there does not appear to be one brave republican out there.

Not true, the brave are leaving in droves, like Olympia Snow.  Hmmmm, maybe that's not so brave :(

Clog up the wheels and what do you get, Nothing..!

"Overreaching"

By: Nick Anderson, The Houston Chronicle ( May 17, 2013 )

a little off the subject but pertinent...this is a link to a frontline on china called 'the tank man' . it explores the events up to and around the tiananmen square massacre and the ways china has changed since. as a for instance, the chinese government no longer offers free education. pupils have top pay fees: school fees, textbook fees, heating fees. the rural poor no longer send their children to school because they can't afford to. the rural areas are suffering extreme poverty while china builds it's cities. so you have an increasing divide between the rural and the urban the same as you have in many countries around the globe...to keep wages low to draw in all those great factory jobs, they no longer provide medical. does any of this sound familiar to us in the west? why it appears that employers globally are in a race to the bottom the same as walmart brought to retail...

Good point... thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Speaking of repealing ObamaCare, one of the great burdens of living in Minnesota is (aside from the weather) the presence of Michele Bachmann.  We have already been subjected to reelection commercials on television from her. Of course the main thrust of these commercials is to promote the repeal. She was only narrowly reelected last year, so I suspect she is getting nervous.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) I don’t live in her district so can’t vote or campaign against her.  But to be confronted by her stupidity while relaxing in my living room more than a year before any reasonable candidate should start campaigning is obscene. It almost made me puke in my beer.
