I used to refer to my cars as the White one, The electric blue one, the station wagon, the van, the pickup, etc. I really didnt know the difference of makes and models. Not really, nor did I care. When someone hit my "Granny gray" car (Mercury Sable) HEAD ON (I was not hurt AT ALL), my Dad insisted on going with me to get a new car. Poor guy!! He asked me what kind of car I wanted and I said, "As long as it has a CD player, I'm good!" LOL! A blue or purple car with a sunroof was a LUXURY bonus!! I ended up with a Red Toyota Corolla with a Sunroof, a 6 CD player...i was ALL SET!! Then....6 months later, as my daughter and I were SLOWLY driving through a construction zone, (like ALMOST everyone else) a guy SMASHED us from behind and shoved us UNDER an SUV. (I saw the car in the rear view mirror coming at top speed so I knew we would be hit.) I fractured my sternum and my daughter fractured her back. I healed within 2 months...she is STILL healing after almost 2 years.
So...as she was NOT gonna be driving, she signed her car over to ME...a Green Chevy Malibu...HER first car. Not bad but its at the point where the NEXT step would have been DUCT TAPE till she was able to buy a new car. (TOMORROW, she is trading it in for a HONDA FIT.)
Well, meanwhile, about 10 months after us sharing HER car for work purposes (she wasnt able to work until 8-9 months after the accident), I bought a White Hyundai Sonata. Its the bomb...it has a SUNROOF and a CD player AND a cassette player. (I LOVE that because my dad made me several AWESOME cassette mixes of his albums years ago. YES, he COULD make them into CDs but it would take a LONG TIME!! And frankly, I only listen to some of them occassionally and it would be too much trouble!) It generally drives nice though something is currently wrong with it though it never "acts up" with my mechanic, of course.
When I am living with the old lady during the week, I drive HER car all week....a White Acura....now THATS a nice car!! But again...it has a SUNroof and a CD player and thats all a car really needs in my opinion!!
I think I have had every car there is. My favorites were my mercedes and jaguar. The best as far as being dependable was a mazda 626. It got blown up in the Phillips explosion in 89. Now I have a galant (256 miles on it) and a ford sable.
American Muscle
Two of the fastest cars i ever owned was a 1969 Pontiac Firebird with 400 ci 4 speed . 1969 Chevy Nova 396 ci . Best eary year car i own was a 1964 SS Chevelle 283 ci . Very dependable .
When i was of age to drive a car i got more and more speedy . I found it would burn rubber . I abused my cars . Burn rubber baby .I also learned things break . Transmission , rear ends , motors . Tires getting bawl . It started costing me money . Money i didn't have . I learned from those experiences . I started respecting my car , the laws . It's been many years passed since i was reckless . I hate driving the speeds of the interstates . So i stay off of them as much as i can . I bide my time in going places . Life is much better that way instead of rush ...
My favorite car was a Nissan Pulsar with Pop out roof panels it was a cool ride It was like having a convertible without the rag roof. I bought it when my ex to be stole my car, he had to make the payments on the car he stole though.
