Since I've always lived in rural area . Us kids would pick the leaves off the rabbit tobacco . Dry it then either chew or smoke it . Smelled like tobacco . A little strong . You will find it along roads , edge of fields .

My grandparents...both sides...were farm people. It grew where they lived and it grows in FL...along the roadside, in ditches. Both my Grandmas used it as medicine. I remember getting beestung on the top of my foot and my Grandma making a poltice from it and wrapping it around my foot. She said it would reduce the swelling and the stinging and the draw the posion out.

I do not recognize the name. In my area there is Mullin and another plant some mistake for wild tobacco. Cannot open the link but will try again later.  I grow a few plants of tobacco in my garden each year. I bought a few seeds online some years back both of a Cuban and Virginia type and saved the seeds each year although I don't know which is which anymore.
