Blithe, I was a huge Roy Rogers fan!  I watched him all the time.  I never liked Dale Evans.....cuz she had him!! ;-)  I got to see them live in Milwaukee at the State Fair and he waved at me, as he rode by on Nelly Belle.  I almost fainted!

I forgot two more....Wild Bill Hickock (Guy Madison starred)  and Zorro.

I was talking to my Aunt earlier today who is just a few months older than me and I was reminiscing with her...I didn't remember this but she reminded me that we met Roy Rogers and Dale Evans at a rodeo  parade in Lawton OK...they rode Trigger and Buttermilk...

The cowboy thing was a big deal back then...funny how memories work at times.

Happy Trails Karin...LOL!

I used to watch Winky Dink on Saturday mornings.  I sent away for a special film to put over the screen and special crayons.  When Winky got in trouble and needed things like a rope or ladder or hole or flashlight, the audience was asked to draw it on the special screen.  Such a primitive interactive thing to do!  I usually forgot the film on the the TV screen which sent my father into conniption fits, lol.

Winky Dink and me

Winky Dink and you

Always have a lot of fun together...

And I loved Andy Divine.  "Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy!"

How innocent we were that we never turned that phrase into one with a double entendre, lol.

Thats was later..LOL...I had a boyfriend that said that a lot.

My dad's ONLY chance to sleep in was Saturdays yet he got up EVERY single SAturday to watch cartoons with my brother and I. We loved Pink Panther cartoons, Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Lidsville, and of COURSE...SCOOBY DOO!!

When my kids was raised up the westerns weren't there to watch . Ninja turtles was wide open . I watch them with them . They controlled the remote ...

Later on Saturdays was Shirley Temple theatre AND "The World Beyond"....does ANYONE remember THAT? I also LOVED those crazy Chinese movies like  "Godzilla meets Cyclops" type stuff and BRUCE LEE movies. The World Beyone MIGHT have been on Sundays after church though we usually went to the library, the aviary, or "dinosaur" museum so not always too much TV on Sundays....

I was kinda scared when The Twilight Zone took over the TV screen . Because i thought they did ....
