TBD

TBD on Ning

I decided to put in a new headlight unit because the lens on the old one had cracks and turned yellow with age. It took 30 minutes to take apart and then cold weather returned and I put off putting it back together for several days. By then I kept saying, "Hmm, I wonder where this goes?" And with going into the house to warm up a couple of times it took about 3 hours to put back together. And now I have a bright shiny new light on one side and a drab dull looking one on the other. And as you can see the garage needs new siding also. Darn thing only had four little bolts but I had to take out about 40 clips and screws to get to that area.

The one thing I have discovered after I turned 55 was that everything takes twice as long as my estimate in my head. In years past I could do things quickly. I don't know what happened to that ability.

that goes hand in hand with "that sounded way better in my head than when i said it out loud"

Any time i decide to get rid of sime books, i KNOW is gonna take a good part of the day. It SHOULD take about an hour but when i pick up a book, thr trouble is, i OPEN it...and start to read....!!

they have stuff that cleans them lenses shadow .. takes a few minutes but it cleans em up well enough .. might be cheaper too as well as less time consumin ..its worth a look .. ask for it at your auto parts store next time you get the urge to take somethin apart..

i used gorilla glue on my headlight .. it puffs up and looks a little  bit weird if you look real close but if you ain't lookin all that hard you'd never notice it .. course i had to drill a tiny weep hole in the bottom to let all the water out that was in there and couldn't get out again cause the cracks were on the top..

Yes, there was about 10 ounces of water in there and of course in a freezing climate it would make the cracks worse whenever the water froze solid.  I trying cleaning with a homemade recipe I found on line of equal parts rubbing alcohol and vinegar. I also tested a small spot with scouring powder. Alas I think the discoloration in mine seemed to go through the lense. The commercial boughten product for that was more than half the price of a headlight unit. I waited through Winter then figuring I would probably hit a deer or turkey anyway. Now I probably will.

I quit doing anything with my car except to drive it and put gas in it...When I bought the car I have now, I turned the maintenance over to the dealership. They have been great. I love the car, I love the car guys. I have taught several of their children and they look out for Ms F.

As a teacher, I'm pretty good with timing out projects. There are times though I get side tracked. Right now I  have been in the process of redoing my lanai. I got all the fern pulled out and got the floor and the walls pressure washed and then I stopped. What has happened is all these things started popping up out of the ground...lots of amaryills...some crotons and a couple of ti plants...so my plans have changed. Not sure what to add to the collection now. I have to get my camera from school and I'll share some pics...anybody a gardener?

so have you named your rooms yet?  like the chef paul kitchen...the sean connery bedroom...the carmen miranda veranda?

yup .. a little bit of duct tape and some wd 40 and you can fix most anything in a pinch

that duck tape makes pinching lots easier...if you duck tape them first, you don't get slapped near as often...i'm not sure about that there wd-40...unless it comes in chicken flavor
