Concerning The Old Testament !

Do you believe the people listed in the bible really existed and the lands of where those people lived ?

It would be nice if the believers actually practiced what Jesus practiced in the bible, it seems that the biggest believers today want to stomp on the poor, throw out the aliens, rape women and make war or at least be armed with automatic weapons.

True believers would not act badly.  Where does it say to judge, demean the poor, shoot, etc. The ones who do are posers and have no clue what peace and love mean.

Sorry, I'm seeing so much of that from the religious right, I'm not participating in religious groups currently but the media is really making me think unkindly about that section of the world. 

I'm generalizing again and apologize to people who are practicing religious.

Ryan and other far right politicians seems to be in awe of the idea, instead of trying to discourage it or say it's a crime he wants woman who have been raped to give visitation rights to the rapist after forcing the woman to have the child of course. 

I'm getting a little too upset by these guys, I think I'll drop out of social site activity for awhile.

The Old Testament is shared by the big three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam but apparently they all consider the Ten Commandments optional, especially that, "You shall not kill." Exodus 20:13  Of course for entertainment that rivals modern soap operas, Genesis is hard to beat.

its a hard book to grasp .. is it symbolism or exact truth ?? and its both . but which is which ?? ahh there's the rub .. do i believe those places and persons lived and existed ?? yeah i do .. do i think any of them were perfect ?? thats a bit hard to swallow . so if men wrote the bible and men are not perfect then there may be some errors in there .. where ?? i don't know .. i know that religion has been bent and fused to meet some;s needs and its still goin on now . so many things done in the name of god that i'm sure god wouldn't approve .. but i'm also sure that there are some people who do try to do the right thing .. so where does that leave us ?? well god gave us all the freedom of choice .. do your best to use it wisely . just because someone says they are from god don't mean they really are .. for many will come sayin they are and many will be deceived .. i think most of us can spot someone who says one thing and then does another ..
