TBD

TBD on Ning

Many of us live in places right where we grew up and some of us have moved all over.  If you had a choice about where to live, where would you like to live?  What would keep you from moving there?  I grew up i NY and lived in NJ for a number of years, but have lived in Maryland for almost 24 year.  I would love to live somewhere warm, but would really miss my kids and grandkids.

I dream of moving somewhere in the Caribbean.  I take my vacation on a different island every year.  Maybe I lived there in a past life because I just feel so comfortable and have a sense of belonging!  Or maybe it's just being on vacation that gives me that peace of mind.  But whatever it is, that would be my dream.

Pretty house,

that's an interesting building (it's a strange little general store)around the corner from my brother's ,down near Flemington.

Looks like it's very old.  Good shape.  Real estate is a passion of mine.

I was born and grew up in the south...Alabama/Tennessee.  It is NOT my favorite place.  In the summer it is unbareable with mild winters but I LOVE snow!!!  So not so much my ideal place.  I lived in Alaska for about a year and loved it.  I like Colorado too.  I want to live somewhere that the temps are not unbarably hot or unbarably cold.  Show me that place.  Not sure there is one.

i posted a video back there of what you're looking for.

Born and have lived all my life (so far) in NYC..birth to 9yo in Bklyn & after that back and forth from Bkly to Queens and for the last 40 years in Queens. Although I've traveled a bit and have lived for short periods in other states (VA & GA), I still think of NYC as the most desirable place for me. I'm not fond of the extremes we have at times and I'm not a fan of the problems that immigration and crowding present, but I can deal with it. While I don't spend a lot of time in Manhatttan, I do enjoy its culturtural offerings occasionally. The mass transit, the libraries, the museums, movies and events keep me here. Living in an outter borough is not as expensive as in Manhattan.

Going from memory, this is about 12 miles northbound from Pearisburg, VA on the Appalachian Trail in 2004. The ideal life would be hiking the big trails, northbound in summer, southbound in winter.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, married a Cleveland boy, lived in small town Ohio for 6 years then lived in Tennessee for 20 years. LOVED IT and would have stayed there forever! About 3 years ago, my grandfather died and my family half serious, mostly NOT suggested I could live in what would be my grandparents NOW vacant mobile home if I just paid the lot rent (about a third of what my apartment cost) and utilities. The place had been PAID off YEARS ago. They were SHOCKED I would come back to the BURG. I was shocked most of all because I couldnt wait to grow up and leave it. SO....here I am BACK in Pittsburgh and though I am NOT thrilled with it, I have learned along life's journey to "accept" where you are and make the best of it until you are able to BE somewhere else. Meanwhile....find what's GOOD about where you are or you will always be running in search of the rainbow. REALISTICALLY, someday I hope to move back to somewhere in Ohio where I still have family. But if we are talking Grand Scheme dreams here....in the US, I would like to live in New England somewhere OR the Niagra Falls area. OUT of the US, I want to live in a foreign country for about a year, at least to be fully immersed in the lifestyle and culture, just to have the experience. I really am not all that interested in struggling with a foreign language as I dont know any so an English speaking country such as Anything in Great Britain would be IDEAL!! I would LOVE to do a "Home Swap/Exchange"...someday!
