Ever since I read Colin Powell's book, "My American Journey", I've always had a lot of respect for him. I'm a Liberal and he's a Conservative. There's been times when I've disagreed with him politically and on political issues, but there have been times when I've agreed with him also. Colin Powell, to me, would make an excellent presidents. He seems to base a lot of his views on good old common sense. Many on the right may dislike him because he supported Obama....and many may say it's all about race. But when I hear Powell speak, he makes plenty sense to me

This is an article/video in which he explains what he thinks is happening with the Republican party. I agree with his analysis and so do many of my friends who happen to be Republican. I've like to get the reaction of others here.

I saw that on Meet the Press this morning. I agree with some of what he said but still defending the Iraq war as "the right thing to do with the information we had" is just wrong. He would have to change his mind about that and tell the crazies in the Republican Party to go to hell before I would vote for him for anything.

He's a Republican and a career Army general, so I expected him to defend the war.  I mainly was listening to what he said was wrong with the Republicans....and there's a lot wrong with them. But when it comes to the war, most....not all, but most career military generals will defend that stupid war. He'll probably never change his mind about the war. But to hear a Republican criticize the Tea Party folks and some of the other crazies, was a step in the right direction, I thought.
