New Years 2013 is almost here and I was thinking today what I want to accomplish or change in the new year.  I still don't know what it will be.  2012 was a big year for me with a lot of positive changes, so it's not easy.  What are some of the things you'd like to do in 2013?

i wanna do the complete opposite of what i did in 2012,cuz that didn't work.

I actually had a pretty good end to 2012.  It didn't start too well, because I had been sick in late 2011 and well into the early part of 2012.  I overcame all that, walked miles everyday over the spring and summer.  I also started going back to church and it's been rewarding to me.  So, I have to come up with something to top all that in 2013.  I'm a big goal setter, so this is going to be interesting.

kind of odd,but 2011 was actually one of the best years ever in my whole life,2012 was by far the worst ever

Survive it to see 2014......lol.

Sounds like a plan Woody

Several years ago I decided to make the same resolution each New Years...to accept the changes that come during the year either those I implement or those forced on me by outside forces. I'm still struggling with the acceptance. I decided to enroll in a local college as a senior citizen auditor for a class and the paperwork and registration system was very frustrating. I managed not to display anger and have gotten through it but it was a struggle!

Here's a great NEW YEARS' RESOLUTION that I'll continue in the new year under what is a new name to me -  Prehabilitation - It’s the opposite of rehabilitation.

Prehabilitation involves strength and conditioning exercises for specific muscles that aims to prevent injuries and help to reduce injury risks before they occur.  What a great idea; fix it before it is broken!

I have always called it Strength Training, but I kinda like PREHABILITATION!!

Thanks Maria!
Here's a good article about PREHAB...
Prehabilitation 101

Ahh, yes, planks!!

I admire TN's persistence and will to do her PREHAB'S. that is so great and commendable but to some of us that wished we could do that is impossible because of illnesses we have like asthma and other unfortunate  things that stop us from exercising that way.  I used to do all that but it seems things just have changed and now I try the stationary bicycle or walk on my walker. ha-ha. It's something right?

I have asthma, and it can cause serious problems for me in the months of November and December if I don't remember to use my inhalers faithfully!   I end up with a stubborn case of Bronchitis, and it's always when we're doing our longest runs getting ready for the Houston Marathon/Half-Marathon in January.

I usually use my stationary bike and my other aerobic equipment two days a week and then do a long run with my marathon training program on Saturdays.

that's great that you go to the Marathon.  Well, I've been under the weather up here in Chicago and I'm allergic to my daughter's Golden Retriever but thank goodness I have kept my asthma under control too. Houston I know get pretty humid in the summer. I'm glad it doesn't affect you. When I go to visit my cousin there I have to watch myself also.

I do have a stationary bike also and I think I will start to use it now more when I go back home. I just can't do too much but thanks for reminding me TW. I used to jog when I was younger and that kept me in shape but now that I'm older I've had too many ups and downs in my life and for a time let go of exercise. But you are inspiring me to try once more and do what I can. Thank you TW.
