TBD on Ning

We watched the guy commit suicide on Fox News.

Shepard apologized all over himself.

We see nothing wrong with that.

Would you faint if you saw that?

What any of this have to do with politics?  Liberal or conservative?

I would not faint, but I would like warning before it comes into my living room.  Unlike many, I would not watch if I knew it was coming.  In this case, the time delay tactic failed and no warning was given.  I think that it might haunt me...in fact, I know it would.  Some realities I would rather not see.  If my child was the one evading the authorities, I would rather that the world not see.

Why would you be haunted? I do not sweat things beyond my control.

That guy probably did the right thing. When he gets to prison he will wish he was dead. The guards are brothers with the cops.

Now please don’t faint, sissies. I knew a prison guard that used to push the inmates down the concrete stairs. I mind my own business. No I wasn’t the prison guard.

Somehow, I think you would make a "good" one.

You still don't know me.

Maybe I was a male Nun?.

No, I don't know you. And you don't know me either. But I do know some things about you from what you post. And from that, I can honestly say, you are someone that I would not want to know.

I know why he would be haunted!  I didn't know that compassion followed party lines either.

By the way, calling people sissies is a kindergarten tactic.

What am I supposed to do? Cry? Compassion ? When that guy went  and rummaged around in the stolen car we thought he had a hostage. That whole episode was a good lesson for car-jackers or what sweet name the libs put on car thieves.

I also liked the way Chinese police handled a child kidnapping (for ransome). The guy said he would kill the kid if his demands were not met. A Chinese plainclothes cop walked up and shot the guy between the eye’s. (On TV) The cop left the body on the street and left. You practice law and order by example.

Whether the example is wrong or right???

I don't think you are alone in your opinion.  It is interesting to me that many people do not react the same way to this as I do.  Not too many centuries ago, people delighted in observing in public hangings and guillotinings. Even today we are voyeurs when we pass an extreme auto accident, we watch shows like jackass hoping to see some pain, we delight in the dirty laundry of reality shows.  I think that (sadly IMO) it is the way many of us react to tragedy...we want to see it.  I saw a dog get hit by a car once and that still haunts me, but I also have to admit to watching 'Faces of Death' with some friends one night (I did not watch all of it, but I willingly agreed to try watching it).

As for the Chinese policeman, I understand that extreme situations call for extreme measures and sometimes drastic action must be taken.  I am, however, a proud American and I do not believe that one man should assign himself judge, jury and executioner.  If the policeman could get that close to the kidnapper without injury to himself or the child, I would think there would have been a less lethal solution to the situation.  I do not know though, I wasn't there and I did not (thankfully) see it.

This site respects everyone's opinion and their right to express that in a respectful and mature manner.  Please don't get personal here.  Name calling, smugness and sarcasm are not a dignified way to cross swords.  Everyone, please moderate yourselves.

This is one reason this country is going broke while China has all the jobs and money and a safe place to live.

We got a safe place to live as long as the cops aren't around.
