I know why everyone else ventured off! They don't want to hear us talk of retirement. Crystal can tolerate it, bless her heart.
yes, it's amazing how much us ol' fogeys can actually enjoy life, now that we don't have to be wage slaves! Crystal's working for herself, after all, that's a mite different than "workin' for da man."
Sunday, and only a week 'til Christmas Day, itself!
and wednesday will be the winter solstice, so the days will begin to lengthen and eventually it'll warm up again. yay!
Good morning Lynn and all who stop by later. I can't wait for the hub bub to end so live can get back to normal. Traffic is miserable and can only get worse as the week progresses. Sharon and I are as ready as we can be for the big event. It's been cold (high 30s) so far but January is usually our coldest month. Sharon is going to work tomorrow. I insist she calls me to bring her home when she is too tired of walking with the boot. We'll see how it goes. She may not feel up to going in which suits me fine. I'd hate for her to have on-going foot problems in the years to come.
wishing Sharon well, as she tries to get out. she's doubtless tired of being cooped up, maybe she could even PLAN to work just a half day....
Hi Lynn, Crystal, Robbie, Richard. . . am I missing anyone? Hi to all! Robbie, where are you? Texas?
Checking in on a Sunday afternoon. Some cookies baked (ran out of baking soda- who runs out of baking soda?), laundry done, presents bought and wrapped! I don't think I've ever been this prepared. We got a little dusting of snow, and I'm happy about that, so far it's the most we've had this season. Last year we probably had a foot by now. Makes for a shorter season when it comes later. Richard, did I read somewhere that the sun is actually shining? WOOhooooo!
Sorry to read about Sharon. She's lucky to have you around to help. (I'm sure she knows that)
Yippeeeeee Cat was here Cat was here. It's sure nice to see you! I remember last year's snow load you had. Many shovelings and car deicing. you did read right, Cat, there has been sunshine almost every day since last week. It hasn't appeared yet today yet though. i hope to see you here again soon. <:0)
went to see a performance of Messiah this afternoon! that's even nicer for xmas than the Nutcracker ballet (another fave.) so i'm now as much in the spirit as i'm likely to get. i probably haven't seen that done since my kids were in high school and i was still dragging them to church! this was a local group that performs many genres, has been singing for about 25 years, with a very small group of musical instruments, but it was truly well done!
i've pulled out my christmas glasses and coffee mugs, and tonite, i treated myself to a drink with my Cruzan Black Strap Rum, Richard -- i'm hoarding that bottle, since it's not available in Virginia anywhere i've seen. i guess, when it runs out, i'll have to return to Oregon! anyhow, it's yummy!
Hi Gang, Now that Cat showed up we probably qualifie for that title.
I'm in Hattiesburg, Ms for the night. On to Chattanooga tomorrow. Then Roanoke and after that Leesburg. Lynn, How's the weather in VA? No snow, I hope. Not till I get there. Then it better.
Want to get an early start tomorrow.
no serious snow, but cold and chance of rain tuesday, better chance on wednesday, clear on thursday but rain thursday nite. I-81 oughta' be find, Robbie. be safe, wave as you pass exit 222 on tuesday, i can see the highway sitting here at my computer.
Monday, and it's Christmas week, too! yippee!
arrangements to visit kids are coming together, looks like i'll see the son and his girlfriend friday nite and the daughter on Christmas Eve. the mother of grandkids isn't happy with me so i may not get to see them at all, but i can't change that and won't let it ruin my holiday....
