it is still going to be summer when i get to Peru! I am going to have such a nice visit with my Tia and Tio and my primas in April! I CANNOT wait!!!

is a chigger the same as a tick? yikes!! if so, please be super careful removing them as if taken out improperly, the head can stay attached and continue to suck blood. Sorry, i used to study animal health care and i know about how persistent they can be. Poor guy!!

No, no..... they're teeny, tiny little critters, also known as redbugs, but they burrow under your skin! He only got one. There's an easy way to kill them - just paint fingernail polish over them!

They are notorious for living in Spanish moss. In the south, anyway.

In Texas they also live in grassy areas. Some people are bothered by 'em and some aren't. I've been with other people who get covered with 'em out in the yard or pasture and I've never had 'em on me at all. I am blessed, aren't I?

My lemon "tree" is blooming again. I picked the first lemon a couple of days ago and made some hummus. The second lemon isn't quite ripe yet. I'm going to have to pick most of the new blossoms off the plant, and leave just a few, because I don't think the "branches" will be able to withstand the weight of approx. 18 new lemons. I've already had to stake the plant up to hold the unripe lemon. My "tree" is 21 inches tall, and the lemon that isn't ripe yet has gotta be the largest lemon I've ever seen. It's just a smidge over 3 1/2 inches long.

GOOD NEWS on the hernia front. Dee just got off the phone with my insurance, and the Dr in Orlando. If get "out of service" paperwork filled out by my family Dr, the insurance will pay, and the Dr. in Orlando said they would get me in as soon as possible.
