I'm still working on the list. I showed Pru this thred today and she is working on a list. Or maybe she is just seeing if she can agree with my list. We had a discussion about it.
So far:
1. John S. Mill
2. Ann Richards
3. Aaron Burr
4. Joseph Priestly
5. Samuel Clemens
6. Molly Brown
7. Thomas Jeferson
Only three possible selections left. I may need more time.
Now, these are people who I would like to have conversations with. Not necessarly people I admire or think did great things. Many of the people who I think did great things are not people with whom I would want to have a converation. I keep thinking about putting Hitler and Churchhill on the list, but not sure that I would want to have a conversation with either of them.
I understand...Cervantes is on my list because I want to ask, WTF???
Joyce would actually qualify better for that question now that I think about it...
I looked up most of the people on your list.....great list w/ lots of thought put into it....I would like to meet them all..esp. Joseph priestly, Samuel Clemens & John s Mill.
I also thought of Hitler, but decided it may be uneventful to talk to someone so self obsessed. Would he be able to have a conversation? I would like to talk to him to see if I could dig inside to the man, but I think the man was who he portrayed....I think he played his ulter ego & was his ulter ego..
My dad liked him, his ability to command such power. I dont think hitler was so smart, I think people are stupid.I also think people who use hitler in a attempt to scare other people are stupid....It is those people who follow people like hitler in the first place...people who run in packs instead of following their own hearts & minds.
Jesus of Nazareth
Hafiz
Mary Magdalene
Andrew Wyeth
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Elizabeth Barrett & Robert Browning (just EBB if I can't meet them as a unit)
Thomas Jefferson
Abraham Lincoln
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Archbishop Eugene Marino (okay, he was a friend of mine, but I miss him, so I'd like to travel back in time & visit with him again)
