"ON THE ROAD AGAIN" POST 2

Well I did this once already and "POOF" it's gone. So, I'll try again. I left the Wytheville, VA KOA at 0800 hrs this morning. Motored down I-81 into Tenn.. Through Bristol, Knoxville and Chattanooga. I think the area around Wytheville Va is one of the prettiest in the world. (and yes, I have seen quite a bit of the world). It was a beautiful day. Sun shining, sky blue, and road not too crowded. The only downer was the fact that VA seems to have closed all thier rest stops and Tenn. is rapidly following suit. Guess it is something the politictians can do with little political blowback. Thier constituents don't use those rest stops much so it probably don't matter much to them. However, it is a hot topic amoung tourists and truckers. If we start trying to travel only in states with open rest stops there will be a big loss of business to states with closed rest stops. I am currently in the Allatoona Landing Marine Resort. Just North of Atlanta, GA. Near Acworth, on lake Allatoona.

Larry, Thanks for the send. Its a life style thats not for everyone. It has many benifits, but also many drawbacks. To really enjoy it you have to like travel and new experiences. The thing I like most is; sit outside and people will come over introduce themselves and have a conversation. Or you can just walk around and meet people. I've rarely had that experince in hotels or motels.
I would be very happy to meet you and Kittycat. So far, I've met over 30 tbders.

I envy you with your lifestyle Robbie. with wifi and satellite tv and radio, I think I would enjoy this kind of life very much. I mentioned this to Kittycat, now that we're both retired, and she told me that there is no way she would want to live like this. We will do some travelling around and stay in hotels. If we head south this winter, I'll let you know and maybe we could meet up some place.
