Summer is over. I have had all my annual Doctor and dentist appointments and the results were fine. I have the RV and the Car that I tow behind the RV (refered to as a TOWD) both serviced and humming. I pulled out of the Greenville Family Campground at Haymarket, VA about 11 am today. Headed South. The trip today was pretty uneventful. It was a beautiful sunny day. I decided to spend the night at a KOA at Wytheville, VA. KOAs are usually more expensive than other RV parks. But you can usually count on thier facilities being clean and well maintained. I got a hair cut late yesterday and hadn't had a chance to wash my hair, so I needed a good shower and hair washing. KOA it is. I had just dumped my holding tanks, so I didn't need to dump yet. Therefore I decided all I need was a site with water and electric. They are usually cheaper than full hookups. This turned out to be a mistake. The site was so cramped and the turn coming out of it was so sharp that I hit the water pipe for that site. My exaust pipe bent it down and the back wheel ran over it. I went into the office and told the person at the counter. She said she would tell the owner. I said that I was going to the Flying "J" truck stop to gas up and I wanted to chane to a full hoop up pull through site. She said ok and assigned me to site 10.
when I got back the park owner was waiting for me. He started off by saying " this is a major problem. What are you going to do about it? I told hi that I had no idea what he wanted, that as far as I was concerned, I should never have been assigned a site that had a turn at the exit that my RV was to large to navigate. I won't bore you with the rest of the conversation. Tomorrow morning we will sort out how it will be resolved. Luckly I am retired and on my way south with no deadline.
