This just steams me. I got tired of bolding all the sections that chapped my behind because the whole thing is just wrong. Fine, write a true "Health Care" Plan. This shows another potential loss of personal freedom and civil liberties. I've already fired off an email to Calfornia Representative John Campbell requesting a town hall meeting in August.
Can any American say that they're really OK with this loss of freedom and choice?

This just steams me. I got tired of bolding all the sections that chapped my behind because the whole thing is just wrong. Fine, write a true "Health Care" Plan. This shows another potential loss of personal freedom and civil liberties. I've already fired off an email to Calfornia Representative John Campbell requesting a town hall meeting in August.
Can any American say that they're really OK with this loss of freedom and choice?

He is getting such resistance on this bill, the past few days have proven it, and yet...he acts "confident" it will pass. Yeah, confident, wink, wink. Town hall meetings are the brewing point, and yet "news media" has been claiming it's all staged. Well then the general public must be a bunch of actors, because these "staged" events are happening nationally, not just in isolated spots.

They're writing this stuff now, and shrinking care at every cut corner. So, why not take a moment and write your dream health plan, including whatever YOU want...there are no limits (obviously). Just take a moment and jot down a few items of importance to you and send them off to the President, Dr Margaret Hamburg at the FDA and your local state representatives. Just google their addresses....it's all there.
This is OUR bill. Remember, Presidents, VP's, congress people, etc., are exempt from whatever plan they pass because THEY HAVE THEIR OWN FOR LIFE (which we also pay for).

I'm not saying private insurance does not have it's downfalls. BUT please read this bill, because they could deny any help for a fractured pelvis or anything. They are pretty much putting "price tag" on everyone so to say. So just because under this, you now have "insurance", it does not "ensure" you will be treated for whatever ails you at the moment. It's kind of a lesser of two evils, and once you get the gist of HR 3200, private is definitely the lesser of 2 evils.

for an "over 40" demographic, i would think the tbd readership would care more about the future of their own health care, much less the health of their children (and grandchildren). and yes, many are already sick and require disease care. my hope is to have the sick become well and participate in maintaining the care of their health....prevention.

oh, kaiser...don't get me started! i know doctors who used to work in that system -- who are very good doctors -- but couldn't really do their best given the restrictions of the system. they couldn't wait to get out of there.
and to your point, suzanne, that's what we have to look forward to with socialized medicine....restricted care. people think they have it tough now.....they have no idea what they're in for if a plan like HR 3200 ever passed. limited care....or none at all. if you're 'old', bag it. you're toast. oh wait...you're not even toast! you're yesterdays crumbs, swept away and disposed of.
and mandating anything except kindness, respect, love, etc., is just criminal. it may sound airy-fairy to some, but many people want to have a say in their live. and love is the most healing and powerful of all. anyone who's known someone who's been sick and spent time with them knows how they respond to your voice, your touch, your presence. the human spirit is resilient and strong. when i was in a coma, i knew there were people around me....THEY didn't know i knew they were there.
the deal comes down to this....i know i don't want to be controlled. i know i'm not alone. suzanne's on board. this bill is unconstitutional and not just compromises, but destroys the health (and other) freedoms we enjoy today. many people want to have a choice. there is no choice allowed in this bill, which shows a blatant lack of consideration and true 'care' for people and the human spirit. and i feel like i'm already on a death march when i read it. it's scary.
have we become so robotic that we don't have original thought anymore? or just too overwhelmed to even care?

UG you're right too. My biggest beef is how it's such socialized medicine and people are NOT getting it where all the miraculous money is coming from. From the working class's already stretched too thin pockets. Yeah, companies will pay taxes too, but that will mean less and less other benefits for their employees, like raises, 401k's etc, not hiring new people, trimming the workload. Oh the chaos that is just simmering beneath the surface it is so unreal I can't stand it. Forced, er um I mean mandatory innoculations/vaccinations. I work for a biopharma company and just yesterday we were in a company-wide meeting talking about H1N1. You know what these scientists all said. Wash your hands, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough and stay home from work if you feel sick. In fact, they premised it with, treat it like the "normal" flu. BUT instead the health/death plan will only vaccinate you with horrible slow killing vaccinations. Another topic I know. But if you use common sense, you won't need to utilize the health care system. Bad enough we have to stay within our "network" or pay out the butt. New plan, like Kaiser, this is your doc, like it or not. Oh, how I could go on and on. I grew up in SoCal and Kaiser was California's answer to their own socialized medicine. Let me stop before I lose what little listeners there are out there on the cons of this. OC I feel your "pain".
