TBD on Ning

A recent column by Jeffrey Kuhner in The Washington Times reported the following:

* “The Vatican estimates that from Egypt to Iran there are just 17 million Christians left.” Why? Persecution by Muslims.
* “Nearly two-thirds of the 500,000 Christians in Baghdad have fled or been killed.” Why? Persecution by Muslims.

Other reports that have come across my desk in recent weeks report increased Islamic terror activity in Sweden. Thousands of Hindus have fled Pakistan’s Sind province due to increased persecution by Muslims.

While the church bombing in Egypt received some worldwide press, none of these developments I refer to above have received much worldwide attention.

Meanwhile, after Pakistani’s Punjab governor Salman Taseer was assassinated because he opposed Pakistan’s anti-blasphemy laws, over 500 Muslim clerics defended the actions of the murderer. What’s more, when Pope Benedict XVI urged Pakistan to repeal these laws, the leader of the nation’s most powerful Islamic party declared “The Pope’s statement is an insult to Muslims across the world.”

Crime perpetrated by Muslims against non-Muslims throughout Europe is accelerating. Terrorist threats are on the rise. Counterterrorism forces in Great Britain are tracking some 30,000 potential Islamic terrorist suspects in that country alone. Jews are fleeing Europe in response to increased persecution.

All of this is occurring against the backdrop of decades of appeasement and accommodation extended by European governments to militant Muslims.

Lebanon’s government was recently toppled by Hezbollah. Now, for all practical purposes, Hezbollah is in control of Lebanon.

Throughout history Islamic jihad has ebbed and flowed – but it has never completely ended. Today we are witnessing an emboldened and empowered worldwide jihad the likes of which has not been seen since before the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

In the face of this reality Rep. Bennie Thompson criticizes Rep. Peter King’s plan for hearings on Muslim radicalization, foolishly arguing that Muslim radicalization shouldn’t be singled out when we have mass shootings like the one recently in Tucson.

Organizations like CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, insist that terror and violence around the world, perpetrated by Muslims, has nothing to do with any doctrines of Islam. This in spite of the fact that since 9/11 over 17,000 incidents of Islamic terror have been documented worldwide. CAIR’s contentions would be laughable if this weren’t so tragic.

Over the past two years we saw more homegrown terrorists arrested than in the previous eight years since 9/11. Yet the Obama administration can’t even bring itself to use terms like “jihad” and “radical Islam” in its assessment of this worldwide threat.

The good news is the 2010 elections elevated Members of Congress like Peter King to chairmanships of key committees. Many of the new freshman class are more aware of the threat of radical Islam – and more willing to define it as such. More Americans than ever have heard of sharia law.

While issues like jobs, the economy, and exploding federal deficits dominate the headlines and are the top concerns of most Americans, we who understand the seriousness of the threat of rising worldwide jihad must continue to be the voices of warning to America. We must be the modern-day Paul Revere’s, who sound the alarm while most people don’t see what’s coming. We must connect the dots so that people understand why we are threatened by both cultural and violent jihad.

This year we have many big plans to ensure this happens. Our TV program premieres February 5th at 2:30 PM Eastern Time on Family Net and on February 6th at 4:00 PM Eastern Time on ALN.

Our National Conference and Legislative Briefing will take place in Washington, DC, June 22 – 24.

We will conduct several Citizens in Action training conferences.

We will host webcast training sessions for our chapter leaders.

Early next month we will announce a new initiative: Open the Qur’an Day.

I believe that, in spite of rising worldwide jihad, the tide is turning. Leaders and citizens in Europe are pushing back. ACT! for America doubled its membership in 2010. More and more Americans are rejecting the foolishness of political correctness.

This is not a year to lose hope. This is a year to build on what we have accomplished thus far.

Yours for a safe and free America,

"...drag this group down to your level"

Did you see that Lawerence? I think that was one of those personal attacks.

I call for civility. This heated rhetoric has no place here.

Lol........   Good shot, alienken.  (if I can use that term here)

Let me do a general correction here to save time. Everywhere you claim that I'm lying I'm not. You disagree with my view, you think I'm wrong, but why accuse me of lying. I dont have to lie to explain my view and I would appreciate it if you would stop saying that I'm lying.

Right the actions of a few should not smear the entire group. I dont think anything here is about attacking all Muslims. We have a beef with the extreamist, the terrorist who are trying to kill us. It is so common that when this subject is brought up it goes like this ...conservative: the terrorist groups are active and are trying to kill us, lets do something...liberal: you cons are such hypocrites, Christians are just as dangerous as the terrorist. Stop hating all Muslims. conservative: WHAT?...confusing hits because its like we are not even talking about the same thing.

If you you didn't twist the scripture, you misinterpreted it. Our commands in the New Testament are for the individual not for country government. Jesus had a respect for government law. When he was crucified, he didnt blame Pilot who was in charge, he blamed the people who turned him in. He was an innocent man who suffered a very painful death.

The Iraq war- it was a continuation from the Gulf War under Bush senior. I dont remember any Christian groups excited about going to war.

more later
No, you know what, I'm done here. You might disagree with what I'm saying but I'm not lieing. It proves that Lawerance is right, this is a waste time. You leftist cannot debate without the smear and you cant stop calling me a liar which is what your doing. I can understand that you would probably disagree with everything  that I say and that you probably think I completely out of my mind. Thats a given when it's left vs. right but I'm an honest man and the charge of lieing is a major insult to me. You havent made me angry, your not important enough for that. But I'm not much of a typer  and this just takes too much time and its a waste if you dismiss everything that I say is a lie.

The Iraq War- the libs had the advantage in the political debate arena. All they had to say was this...Bush lied people died. Quick and easy-like. But it took consevatives whole paragraphs and a few minutes to explain why that term is wrong. During the explanation, if its too long you start losing some people.

Back in the Gulf War Sadam Huisane surrendered. Under the surrender agreement there were terms that Sadam had to abide by like the no-fly zone, keeping the size of his military and arms down, ect. Since then and all throughout the Clinton admin we had trouble with Sadam going against the terms of the suurender agreement. By the way as soon as Clinton was elected Sadam would not let the UN inspectors into a certain area and he called an all out invasion. He didnt go to the UN like everyone demanded of Pres Bush. Everything we had in the area started making a bee line directly for Sadam and he backed down.

I think all total it was about 8 years and 12 resolutions from the UN before we struck and all the dems could say- Bush rushed to war.

He was wrong about the weapons of mass destruction along with the intelligence agencies of the british and our other allys.

Sadam was making it look like he had them because of the Iran threat, he was bluffing. But once again for political reasons, the libs said he lied. If he lied so did the rest of the world even Pres Clinton.

This was done by a President who happened to be a Christian but this was not a Holly War, it was not done in the name of God, Jesus or anybody else in the bible.

Taking and conquering other countries is actually in the Muslim religion. Jihad....have you ever heard the term caliphate. Sharea Law is the governing law in a Muslim country. I dont understand why the activist groups dont speak out about Sharea Law.

Women are considered property- where are the National Orginization for Women?

Other religions and atheism are not tolerated- where are the atheist groups?

Where are all the libs who criticize Christians for intolerance? There is not a more intolerant group than the Muslims.

If you dont like being criticized by Christians, if you live under Sharea Law you will be killed, tortured or raped if you break one of their laws.

By the way we are still at war in Iraq and Afghanistan where did all the antiwar protesters go? There used to be a death count every night on the news. Why is there not stories about how many of our soldiers have like it was under Bush?
