A recent column by Jeffrey Kuhner in The Washington Times reported the following:

* “The Vatican estimates that from Egypt to Iran there are just 17 million Christians left.” Why? Persecution by Muslims.
* “Nearly two-thirds of the 500,000 Christians in Baghdad have fled or been killed.” Why? Persecution by Muslims.

Other reports that have come across my desk in recent weeks report increased Islamic terror activity in Sweden. Thousands of Hindus have fled Pakistan’s Sind province due to increased persecution by Muslims.

While the church bombing in Egypt received some worldwide press, none of these developments I refer to above have received much worldwide attention.

Meanwhile, after Pakistani’s Punjab governor Salman Taseer was assassinated because he opposed Pakistan’s anti-blasphemy laws, over 500 Muslim clerics defended the actions of the murderer. What’s more, when Pope Benedict XVI urged Pakistan to repeal these laws, the leader of the nation’s most powerful Islamic party declared “The Pope’s statement is an insult to Muslims across the world.”

Crime perpetrated by Muslims against non-Muslims throughout Europe is accelerating. Terrorist threats are on the rise. Counterterrorism forces in Great Britain are tracking some 30,000 potential Islamic terrorist suspects in that country alone. Jews are fleeing Europe in response to increased persecution.

All of this is occurring against the backdrop of decades of appeasement and accommodation extended by European governments to militant Muslims.

Lebanon’s government was recently toppled by Hezbollah. Now, for all practical purposes, Hezbollah is in control of Lebanon.

Throughout history Islamic jihad has ebbed and flowed – but it has never completely ended. Today we are witnessing an emboldened and empowered worldwide jihad the likes of which has not been seen since before the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

In the face of this reality Rep. Bennie Thompson criticizes Rep. Peter King’s plan for hearings on Muslim radicalization, foolishly arguing that Muslim radicalization shouldn’t be singled out when we have mass shootings like the one recently in Tucson.

Organizations like CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, insist that terror and violence around the world, perpetrated by Muslims, has nothing to do with any doctrines of Islam. This in spite of the fact that since 9/11 over 17,000 incidents of Islamic terror have been documented worldwide. CAIR’s contentions would be laughable if this weren’t so tragic.

Over the past two years we saw more homegrown terrorists arrested than in the previous eight years since 9/11. Yet the Obama administration can’t even bring itself to use terms like “jihad” and “radical Islam” in its assessment of this worldwide threat.

The good news is the 2010 elections elevated Members of Congress like Peter King to chairmanships of key committees. Many of the new freshman class are more aware of the threat of radical Islam – and more willing to define it as such. More Americans than ever have heard of sharia law.

While issues like jobs, the economy, and exploding federal deficits dominate the headlines and are the top concerns of most Americans, we who understand the seriousness of the threat of rising worldwide jihad must continue to be the voices of warning to America. We must be the modern-day Paul Revere’s, who sound the alarm while most people don’t see what’s coming. We must connect the dots so that people understand why we are threatened by both cultural and violent jihad.

This year we have many big plans to ensure this happens. Our TV program premieres February 5th at 2:30 PM Eastern Time on Family Net and on February 6th at 4:00 PM Eastern Time on ALN.

Our National Conference and Legislative Briefing will take place in Washington, DC, June 22 – 24.

We will conduct several Citizens in Action training conferences.

We will host webcast training sessions for our chapter leaders.

Early next month we will announce a new initiative: Open the Qur’an Day.

I believe that, in spite of rising worldwide jihad, the tide is turning. Leaders and citizens in Europe are pushing back. ACT! for America doubled its membership in 2010. More and more Americans are rejecting the foolishness of political correctness.

This is not a year to lose hope. This is a year to build on what we have accomplished thus far.

Yours for a safe and free America,

I'm doing my best to help oppose it.

Early next month we will announce a new initiative: Open the Qur’an Day

While I'm sure that the Act! for America folks are aware of this, I feel I should clarify for others who may not be, that many English translations of the Qur'an are deliberately mistranslated so as to obscure from the English speaking world, some of Islam's definitions and aims.   This dishonesty is permited in Islam by the principle of Al-Takeyya.

Lawerence, your right. The english translation IS different than the one in the original language.

Thats what I like about Briggette, the founder of ACT. She speaks like 3 or 4 languages and she knows what the quaran says .

So you say.

The Muslim "extremis" that we are talking about is the Muslim brotherhood and all their spin off groups like humas, hezbola, and even al' quida. Act is actually talking about terrorist that slaughter people for THEIR religous beliefs. The founder Briggette has first hand knowledge of these people. Many in her family was killed and she spent her teenage years in hideing in a small room. You want to question the source? I guarentee you the source is solid. Pacis Dream, let me ask you this...

Is there a way to criticize these murderous thugs in a way thats acceptable?  What I'm saying is...whats the issue? You dont like the way that the terrorist are being discussed or are you just dont want these people criticized? How can you call the Act people hypocrites they haven't been murdering people in the name of their religion.

It's obvious which side your on. You make excuses for the terrorist and slam the Christians.

This is the main difference between the Muslim and Christian religions that most people like you over look when you trot the "Christians kill people too" argument....Killing is apart of the Muslim belief. They are actually told to kill infedels. Christians are told to love your enemies. love your neighbor(everyone), when wrong is done to you, turn the other cheek.

Christians can and do live peacefully among other religons, Muslims come in and want to establish Sharea Law and take over the country killing those who oppose them.

You want facts to support this, watch the news.

I didn't mean the quotes as you said it "Christians kill people too" I'm sorry that came out wrong. It's the way I describe your kind of argument in a general way.

You just did again. The abortion doctor killing was murder. All Christian leaders spoke against it. You are trying to smear all Christians from the actions of one evil nut.

Christians and Muslims CAN live peacefully in one country. Here in the USA. There are other countries also I'm sure but in Europe the extream muslims migrate in,  make their demands, and start taking over. Like in France.

You twist the scriptures."Turn the other cheek" is a individual command. The Bible does not say that should be our National security policy. If it where we wouldn't have a military and wouldn't have a country ruled by us.

My vision is not murky at all. Since the attacks of Sept. 11. I can name my country's enemies. Al queda and other terrorist groups that have the same goal..to kill infidels. They have no excuse. I don't care what their reasoning is or who did what first, they want to kill my fellow Americans and my friends the Jews.  We are at war with them and I hope they are defeated at least to the point that they cant accomplish their goals. Some on the left say that since I think that I way I must hate all muslims. I doesn't make since.

You think there is religious hatred on both sides? When Muslims kill innocent people they do it as a group in the name of their Religion. When Christians do it, it's an individual working on his own outside of the religion. Fellow Christians will condemn that individual for it.

You cant honestly say that Christians are more dangerous in the world than Muslims.  Not honestly.

You are spot on, alienken, but this person you're arguing with fancies himself the mouthpiece of the far left and of Islam.   You will convince him of nothing.  This has been an ongoing disagreement for just about as long as this site has existed, and he has been the most strident voice for both the left and Islam, which appreciates his filling the position that they (Islam) refers to as "Usefull Idiot".
The term "usefull Idiot" is one that the Islamists and to a degree the left have both coined, if that is the "vulgarities" you refer to.  As such the term is part of the respectable public lexicon which conveys a recognised idea, and is not a "vulgarity".    If you refer to something else in my post as vulgar, identify the word or words you are citing.  In any case feel free to ban me if my presence here makes you uncomfortable.  Such an action would speak volumes about yourself as a moderator.
That's all hogwash, pac, but ban me if you must.

Here is some material on the Muslim Brotherhood, alienken.

My purpose here, on the contrary, is to provide counterpoint to the  unrelenting liberal/progresive/socialist viewpoints that most here have held since their college days or longer.  I will continue to do so until or unless you ban me for such.  But if you opt for that, at least be honest about your reason for doing so.

As to my Christanity, surely you don't think that I need approval of my level of faith from you, so why bother to lower your own intelectual standing with a comment like this?
