TBD

TBD on Ning

i've seen bits and pieces of it but i'm watchin these talkin heads now who are sayin that john good the last witness who actually did see zimmerman on the ground and treyvon on top whoopin him mma style ( which means mixed martial arts like ufc or ultimate fightin champinship ) has opened the door for the prosecution because he said maybe zimmerman could have wriggled free . which would mean that he didn't have to shoot trevon because he wasn't in imminent danger .. as if he could have just gotten away as easy as snappin your fingers ..but the thing is tho if you knew what zimmerman had said in his deposition when he was arrested ( yes he was arrested , a lot of people think he wasn't but he was , and he was questioned for 5 hours , and they took his clothes for evidence ) he said treyvon saw the gun in his jacket in the holster and tried to take it from him and they grappled over the gun and it went off .. so i'm not sure how zimmerman could have prevented that unless he just handed the gun over to a guy who's beatin your brains out .. but does that make sense to anyone here ?/ hey lemme give you my gun so you'll stop beatin me and you can shoot me instead ok?? ..  they should get some guys who have done their homework on this event to commentate ..

It is very simple. If Zimmerman had stayed in his car like the 911 operator told him to do there would have been no chance for him to end up in any kind of fight. Did Tervon not have a right to defend himself?

well thats the easy answer p.a. like monday mornin quarterbacks why did he go for it on 4th down ?? but if you remember on the 911 tapes zimmerman was already out of his vehicle when the 911 operator suggested that he not follow..and all this happened after he said ok and was on his way back to his vehicle..   but truth be told as a neighborhood watchman thats what you're supposed to do .. watch .. believe me if it was illegal for him to do that then there wouldn't be any neighborhood watches anywhere and zimmerman would be in jail on charges for that alone ..there might be more to this story than you know . and i know too ..

He was also told to not follow him and he was violating Neighborhood Watch rules by carrying a gun.

Exactly!!

yeah that was my first impression too rose and probably most peoples .. but as i learned more about zimmerman and treyvon i found that was simply not the case .. none of the people who know zimmerman said he was like that .. not one .. there were even black people who knew him who came forward and said he was not a racist nor was he a yahoo cowboy cop .. on the other hand what do you know about treyvon martin ?? did it ever strike you funny that the only picture of treyvon they had was of him as a 12 year old kid ?? with cell phones that take pictures everywhere all they used was this chior boy picture of him that was  about 5 years old ?? and character witnesses ?? the best they could come up with was his pop warner football coach from 5 years ago ?? none of his current friends have been interviewed on tv ?? well it sure did me .. so i did some research .. he was not a chior boy .. as you said you didn't get into confrontations and thats the right way to do a neighborhood watch .. but what if the person you're watchin confronts you ??

Great analysis, Rose!  I agree.

I absolutely agree!

Part of this case may hinge on that, that is, at what point Zimmerman should have given up watching Treyvon. Usually defendants don't testify on their own behalf so we may never know why Zimmerman began watching Treyyvon and why he pursued him after he was advised not to. In that it did come to a confrontation, Zimmerman must have at least in his own mine answered the question about what to do in such a case.

These sorts of cases make big news and it is not just the fault of the news media.  Psychologically people seem to like this sort of story in the movies and in real life. In many ways it is different but and this may test the memory of some but remember the Bernhard Hugo Goetz case? It also broke down along racial lines somewhat but not political lines like the Zimmerman case.

I shouldn't get in on this one.  All I can say is I have had a gun put to my head literally.  If (from what I have read) that kid had come at me....yep, I'd have done the same thing.

i had a psycho cop put a gun to my head, i was 17 years old,he was just a coward,he told the judge,he was in fear of his life just because i was bigger than him,the judge didn't believe a word of the cop,and i was found not guilty of the original offense reckless driving(the cop admitted to making it up),a short time later ,he was bounced off the force for" playing ",with his gun and it accidently went off and shot another cop in the leg.

wow,thinking back,almost  40 years later,it's still clear as a bell.

I think ego was brought into play and anger, this case to me is about both parties shooting off the mouth. Zimmerman should have followed what he was told. No matter if Treyvon was acting out being a smart mouth he should not be dead because of that. They were probably both at fault for being asses however the adult should bear more responsibility for his actions and he was instructed to stay in the car.
