Horses To Adopt 28 Replies

Although I've put some links to adoption websites on the group main page, I decided I wanted to post some horses that caught my eye, and their information, from many sites. Seeing some of these beauties may lead a horseless rider to a horse that needs a loving, forever home. Please add any horses you know of and their important statistics and contact information.…Continue

Now to explain...that's me picking up Nathan's and my award and reward on Friday's IHA Year End Awards dinner. I thought it would just be a humongous ribbon but got all that horse luggage too!

Sounds like a great idea, Carol.

A school master is an invaluable asset, especially when learning a new movement in a discipline as complex as dressage. I'd often ride such a horse to hone a new skill before inflicting myself--hahahaha--on a client's horse.

You can have such a useful learning experience when your horse has an excellent understanding of the movement you're attempting and is willing to offer correct responses to relatively correct aids.

Yup. Had an epiphany today on lesson. I've ridden 2 school masters who were lame since I started learning dressage and I only rode them a total of 4 times. I've ridden primarily untrained school horses except for Nathan who did eventing and had been exposed to the basics of dressage. I think I've done pretty good, but maybe next year I might seek out a dressage camp to have the experience of riding a school master.
