A school master is an invaluable asset, especially when learning a new movement in a discipline as complex as dressage. I'd often ride such a horse to hone a new skill before inflicting myself--hahahaha--on a client's horse.
You can have such a useful learning experience when your horse has an excellent understanding of the movement you're attempting and is willing to offer correct responses to relatively correct aids.
