excellent! woot woot

smile...

If I made you smile, My work for today is done. Guess i gotta start working on tomorrow!!

Done with the chemo, blood work is coming back fine, colonoscopy was good, and surgery is scheduled for the 5th of next month. I'm just praying I don't wake up with the external bag. Just to get an idea of what it would be like, I wore a bag for a couple hours the other day. Everyone said that the bag would lay flat against my body, and that with a shirt on no one would be able to tell. NOT TRUE! Due to my beer belly, the thing swung around with every step I took, and I don't own a tee shirt that is long enough to cover the bag hanging half way to my knees.

Everything sounds VERY good, health-wise, Bubbie--that's a MAJOR thumbs up for the upcoming surgery. Keep it up, Baby!!!

Your words imply that the doc is going to wait and see how things look during surgery before he determines whether he's going to make an ileal conduit or a continent reservoir. That's hopeful (although I do understand, from experience, that it's unsettling when you're not sure what you'll wake up with).

I'm throwing a new mantra into the prayer mix--NO BAG!

As for the bag hassle--if it comes to it, then it's time to do the retro thang (which is in style) and go back to the 60s and long dashikis, kurtas, and tunics. Then you'll be Stylin' and Smilin' again. (The "real" bags are usually affixed to your skin in a way that they don't dangle--but if one does, there's always garment/body tape. Take it from an old model, garment tape holds anything to skin! :>) )

Soooooooooooooooo glad to hear from you, Baby Bubba (I'm channeling Bootsy). A multitude of hugs and kisses.

Bubba im so happy that chemo is done and your tests look good- that is the best news ever!!! Im sory that you are stressing abuot possibly a external bag. Please try to remember one day at a time honey.. you are doing great. I hope during this time you rest, eat good food get uot in the sun a little and generaly build yourself up. We love you Bubs... smooch

I smile ear to ear with each and every one of those smooches, cause I remember real ones!!!!!!

I'm like the first piece of bread. Everyone touches me but nobody wants me.

At least you get touched funes!!

Surgery is set for Sept 5th. It's going to be a LONG day. I'll need to get up at 3 AM to shower with a special soap they gave me, and I need to be at the hospital by 5:15. The surgery will last 5 to 6 hours, and I was told that this is a "bloody" surgery. Surgeon says to expect to be in the hospital for at least 5 days, and that recovery will take anywhere from 3 to 6 months.
