What's wrong with this picture?

Or better yet, help me to rationalize it's normality.

In the local high school exsists a 16 yo girl who has a history of multiple suicide attempts and more threats than I can count in a day. She is described by many as a viscious, obsessive bully. She is a drug user and a sex fanatic. Her physical violence is legendary.

Many describe her as lying and manipulative. She comes from a large wealth family. She dreams of killing her mother. For what it's worth, she is bisexual. Her grades are very poor. The sentence she uses to describe herself is , "I hate everyone".

My question is, do kids like this occur naturally, or is it necessary for some environmental stimulus to create them. Please, as many opinions as possible. I'm rather concerned. Love you! Jackie

Per my wife a retired teacher:
In public schools, they can't do anything unless she hurts herself or others in front of others as a witnesses.
Her parents have to ok any medication or therapy she gets.

NJ has a clear anti bullying law which this school is in major violation of. Thats my next step. Gotta protect the kiddies.... Mother Sanity

PMDD runs in my family. My daughter has it and the difference between her moods when she gets her shot for it and when she can't afford it is night and day. As a young child the school conselor described her as "delightful" and she started having problems right around puberty. I knew that my mom was treated for extreme periods and I remember her as a kid having this major tantrum where she slammed the door to her bedroom so hard that the very solid doorjam broke. My grandmother was a visiting nurse and my mom was given, according to my mother , birth control. When she told me that I was kind of shocked. They had birth control back then? If this is the case with this young hellion , she really doesnt' understand why she is in so much emotional pain. With or without the other possible dynamics like sexual abuse, I'm just wondering if you ever marked on a calender the dates for the worst encounters that your kid has with her. That's if she even has regular periods.

My husband's x girlfriend was Bi-polar. She ruined him financially and we are back on track now but sheesh. I had a very handsome man for a friend who was Bi-polar and when he went off his meds because of weight gain and they were giving him arthritis? he said. I refused to be alone with him , he was out of control and even the crack of dawn wasn't safe around him.

they say that if a man tries to commit suicide it is done deal but if a woman tries several time to commit suicide that is a sign of attention where at some point in her life she will find peace behind the bars only after harming someone innocent . She needs help.

A school shouldn't be a hostile enviornment . They are supposed to have alternatives for dealing with challenging behavior. I don't know if they are afraid that the school system will have to pay through the nose for a private tutor if a doctor's attorney gets involved.

My experience with the school systems and having kids with dyslexia is that they bank on you not knowing the basics about the laws regarding education. Jim Jeffords wrote about this somewhat in his book>>My Declaration of Independance. Alternative education is federally mandated and at the time of the printing of his book was not being followed through on as far as funding was/is concerned. I know that whatever they do has to be apropriate for the individual student. Every child is entitled to a free and apropriate education. I'm not sure what the federal and state laws say regarding a hostile learning enviornment . I had one of those in College and never finished my degree. It was very damaging and I had a lot of anger about it for many years. I'm glad that your doing something about this. UR1 very cool parent.

God bless you. You'd be surprised how little parents are involved. I've been here in the front row for years now...alone, consistently all alone. Pitiful. (I have however garnered one hell of an education concerning NJ school laws! aND THATS GOTTA BE GOOD!) Loveya! Jackie
