The Three Stooges did not make it into Phildelphia's Jewish Hall of Fame.

The Three Stooges are on my list of "guy things", along with tools, spitting, and pickup trucks.
Gentlemen? Would you, could you (?) explain the Three Stooges to me. I don't get it. Or them. Most, if not all, women I know don't get them either. So, what gives? Why the fasination? The devotion? The posters hanging on the wall.

And ladies, do you watch? Really?

1Great hit on a few things. It's funny to watch grown men acting like little kids which is the time when most of us guys started watching them. It was a look into our future. Nyuk Nyuk.

Who doesn't like Curly? He's likeable. In real life he was known to be quite the ladies man. They had him shave his head so he wouldn't appear so appealing.

Number one, it's mindless entertainment .... To men that's a good thing ...
Two, I really have no idea .... except that over the top stupidity cracks me up ... The premise is usually funny, for instance in many of their shorts, the stooges will be put in a place of responsibility. That in itself is so unbelievable, you gotta watch it and see what these idiots are going to do...... Plus I like the way Curly says "coitenly"......

Yes. Yes. The Stooges still live within us. In fact I think their offspring were working on my sewer line a few years back. All the utilities were marked in the yard. They broke the water line twice and also the gas line. When they were "done" they forgot to tie the kitchen line back in. I wanted to get home early one day just to get a glimpse of these geniuses and fully expected to find them trapped in their own web of pipes.

And the most basic level of the human sense of humor: Slapstick. Lizard-Brain Humor. It's Funny Because You Got Hurt And I Didn't.

You guys hit the nail on the head. Someone posted a video a while back where a guy explains the different boxes of a woman's brain compared to the boxes of a man's brain. Men have a section of brain that a woman doesn't have. We have a box that's empty, all the boxes of a woman's brain are occupied and interconnected with all the other boxes. We men like to go to the empty box often where we can bring in the 3 stooges and then evict them again. Please don't hate us Quinn, we adore you. :)

My male friend at work tried to explain very seriously about how women could never understand "the subtle nuances" embodied by the stooges. Pure BS, I assume?

I did like that scene where they all had their day clothes under their fuzzy footed jammies. Funny because...it can't really be that easy for all of us.

The Stooge movies were the worst but I went to all of them, because the 3 Stooges were a part of my life. I thought Joe was the worse replacement for Curly. The Stooges were always a mystery to me: Why did boys LOVE the Stooges even after we (girls) set our dolls aside, and where did they come from? - when did they stop filming? I guess I should Google that. And I will.

I liked Shemp because he was so awful. I learned to love all of them, though it took many many years to understand physical fun with hammers and saws.
