That ain't exactly the "government" doing that - It's egomaniacal Tea Party hand puppets, callously ripping off retirees in the name of "balancing the budget", instead of going after all the fat contained in their pet projects. (Four of the Wisconsin senators who stripped away teacher's union rights to "save taxpayer money" turn out to have taken millions from the federal farm subsidy program for the past 14 years.)

Here we go blaming again. I didn't blame anyone.

The tea party don't have the power to do this.

This damage was done in the 70's when the IRS toyed with how to get peoples money.

First the IRS called it a ESOP then SYSOP then PAYSOP.

All this was a place where you could put money away for retirement.

I didn't trust SS in the 70's.

Month's ago I tried to move my money out of this account and they would not let me.

401-k (are) under the same rules now?

OK, I'm pi$$ed off. Finally got new health insurance card in the mail. The company went ahead and picked a primary care physician for me. I had no problems with that since I didn't know any DR's here, and they said they would pick someone close. Well, I called the office, and the phone was no longer in service. Little grrr. I looked the guy up online, found the office was probably less than 2 miles away, so hopped in the car. Got there, and the office is closed. Little bit bigger grrrrr. Got on the phone with the ins. co. Talked to a real person after going through the maze of automated choices. Another grrrrr. They say there isn't anybody else real close, but gave me the names, and locations of 3 Dr's that would be reasonable close. (and they never asked me the name of the vanishing Dr, so I assume he is still in their system) I decided to do some checking before I chose one, so started googling. Found a sight that ranks Drs, and first two ranked about 2 1/2 stars out of 5, but the third rated at about 3 3/4, so figured I would go with Dr #3. (site said national average is 4 stars) BUT the phone # and location didn't match what the ins. co said. OK, GRRRR! More googling, and found that this guy does take my ins, so figure he must be the same guy, and the office is actually closer than the ins. co said, only 3 or 4 miles. Call the office, ask if he is taking new patients, and they tell me yes, but that he no longer practices out of that office, and he now practices about 45 minutes from me. Big GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

You can't even find a doctor around here.

You have to already have one.

Where are they going?

Hope that they are not moving to Taiwan.

I know why they are leaving Oregon but not other states.

Soooo, do I make the drive for 3 3/4 stars? Primary care guy, heck, I'll probably only see him once ot twice a year. or go with one of the 2 1/2 star guys that are closer??????????? OR do I switch insurance co's again and start the whole process over again? GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

But that's why I had to get new insurance in the first place, I just moved!!! Well not really, but I have been floating between here and OH for almost three years, and since I spend more time in FL now, I changed my permanent address to FL, hence the new insurance.
I'm not looking for pity, just insurance. And I figure I paid my "winter" dues by living in Colorado and in northeastern Ohio for over 50 years. Besides, I'm here more for the fact that this is where my only grandson is, than any other reason.
I just wish I had insurance.
I was without it about 8 years ago. I got sick, cancer and other problems on top of that. I ended up not being able to work, and had 32 medical bills every month. I Paid $20 a month to each, for as long as I could, then $10, and then $5, until every thing I had every owned was gone, and my credit was shot to hell. I know Obama gets a lot of flack over his health care bill, but if it had been instated 8 years ago, my life would not have bben ruined because I had the audacity to get sick.
Well actually Kooner they are trying very hard to dismantle the public education system under the guise of "reform". This started when Reagan took office and pretty soon a book called Nation At Risk was published telling us how bad our schools were. The only problem is they were not bad the data in that book was pure fiction. Notice now republicans always call them government schools and not public schools. All of the "reforms" since then have made things worse.
Actually, Kooner it's not socialist. Everyone in a country this rich should able to receive top quality health care no matter their ability to pay. If someone wants to hang the word"socilaist" on that, I don't care.....no one should be denied health care.
Hi Kooner, I am a firm believer in preventaive care. CRAP, if there was some of that, maybe I wouldn't have ended up where I am. I seem to have run into a string of poor surgeons. My problems started out very minor. My belly button that had alway been an inny, suddenly became an outtie. Dr put a couple stitches in and sent me on my way. Problem? 6 months later, stitches gave way and hernia got bigger, a lot bigger. Second DR said. OH I can fix that, put in a mesh plug  that failed in 6 months. Hernia got much bigger again. Walked around for a couple years because of no ins. at the time. Hernia got bigger every year. Ended up with cancer, and a month after cancer surgery, hernia strangulated and neary killed me. 19 days in hosp and 2 surgerys later, I barely crawled outta the place. Then I got to do the chemo and radiation thing that put me at deaths door again. Finally got on my feet and had the hernia repaired again. Yep, lasted about 6 months and busted loose again. I walked around for years because of no ins. Was stared at every time I left the house because I looked like a freak. I finally found a surgeon last year that fixes "disaster" hernias. It's been about 7 months, and I'm not positive, but think I may have to have another surgery.
