Just got a box of goodies from my Quaker friend. Homemade candy without all the weird stuff in it and a bunch of prom dresses to cut into crazy quilts. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnd a bunch of spices from her store. All sorts of spices that I've never tried before.

Just so you know - If she gave you any "mace", it's just a stronger kind of nutmeg. So don't throw it anybody's eyes or anything - It won't be very effective.

Made my first batch of curried rice. I think I'm going vegetarian. I don't think that she gave me mace, I've heard of it before but don't recall trying it. Really super inexpensive and very fresh herbs and spices some from an Amish farm. I got the box and was making a mmmmmmmmmmsound so much my housemate told me that the neighbors could hear it. But it was very fragrant. I hope Val puts up a spice list to shop through.  She gave me mustard powder and star anise and it smells like my favorite licorice.
