I've been writing since I was a teenager in high school. It's just "me", who I am. After high school, I started at the local junior college, and if I hadn't dropped out after getting married, I would have been an English Major. By then, I knew what I wanted to do with my life: have a family and keep writing. I would normally write 20 pages per day after I was married--being a stay-at-home mom. I had put it aside when I had my first baby. Then I realized he slept a lot, leaving me plenty of time! So I went back to writing.
I had an idea for a novella. My first draft was only 50 pages. But I loved the characters, so I decided to expand the story. I got up to 100 pages, I think. Then I started writing short stories--I think I now have a dozen of those, maybe more. And by then, I'd written a fw more stories that were at least 50-100 pages long.
Until this past year, I was always writing fiction. I think it was 2022 when I decided I wanted to completely rewrite my favorite novella--while I still could. By the time I finished, it was 31 chapters--250 pages. I think it's my best work.
However, I then wanted to write a sequel. That ended up being 13 chapters--because I wanted to jump ahead in the timeline. Well, I ended up sharing both of those with some online friends. Then, I decided to write an Epilogue, showing how things turned out 50 yrs later. I am now on book #3. However, I got stuck after Chapter 5. So then I started doing more Blogs.
However, lately, I've been wanting to get back to Chapter 6. So who knows?? I'm only 76--I could have many more years left to write! So we will see how it goes.
