It's always something with computers, lol.

My daughter gives me her old laptop computers when she doesn't need them. Which is good--I get something 'new to me' without buying it. I bought my 17 in. HP laptop in 2019. I think it was 2021 when my daughter gave me this 15 in. laptop. Both were built in 2019 & have been working fine, with needing a few 'resets' over the years.

Anyway, I think it was 2024 when she gave me yet another laptop. That one would be perfect if it only had more RAM (it has 4GB, which is too slow for what I need). It has a 1T SSD drive, a backlit keyboard, & it works fine. It was also made in 2019. I kept it upgraded, but didn't really use it due to it being slow.   Then I had an idea: if I could 'open' it, see the RAM & try to get more RAM, it would be perfect. I tried many times, but I simply am not strong enough. So I asked if my daughter could help me, the next time they come to visit.

Well, I guess my daughter had other ideas. She decided I need a desktop computer! So she brought me a new inexpensive one when they were here last summer.  I didn't really understand why she thought I needed it. Then I realized the idea behind that is that it is so much easier to 'open' a desktop and add/replace RAM!    The desktop is fine. I had 2 old monitors, & the 23 in. one has internal speakers, so I started using that. Sadly, the 'sound' quit fairly soon.  So I moved my Bluetooth speaker from this laptop to that computer.  I still use a laptop more simply because I prefer sitting in this rocker, where I can also read, watch TV, etc. And I don't need more RAM now, since my other computers all have 8GB RAM--except for the 4GB one, which is put away!

I actually had gone back to using the 17in. laptop for maybe the last 5-6 months--I don't remember exactly why!  However, recently, it has been 'acting up'. I tried a Reset, but couldn't get that to work. So I put it away the other day and went back to using this 15 in. one.  If/when I get energetic, maybe I'll try another reset or something else for the other one. But for now, I'm satisfied with what I'm using.
