They grow up so fast!!!! I was in the back yard yesterday, and not really that close to the nest, but the momma took off, and to my surprise, the babies both took off too. I'm not talking about just flapping wings wildly. They both flew to the neighbor's roof which has to be 30 or 35 feet from the nest. Checked this morning and the nest is empty.

I was GOING to weed whack and mow the back yard. But I looked around and figured I should do a little pruning before I mowed.
After I get this mess cleaned up, I'm not sure I gonna have enough steam left to weed whack and mow.

I was doing some pruning in the back yard. Momma bird didn't like the sound of my saw, so when she took flight, I used the opportunity to check on the babies. They are getting bigger everyday.

About a week or so ago, I was watering a staghorn fern that I have hanging in a Bismark palm in the back yard. As I hit the staghorn with water, a bird took off out of the hanging basket. Took off like a bat...err, I mean a bird outta hell. Anyway, I looked in the basket and found two tiny eggs, smaller than the end of my thumb. Since then every time I go out there, I make little "tsk" tsk" sounds to let her know I am coming. She got used to me to the point that I could walk up to within about a foot of the nest. I told Dee about it this afternoon, and she wanted a pic. I went out, and momma was fine, but got scared and flew off when I took the pic. I checked the nest, and took another pic of our two new neighbors. Don't worry, she came back to the nest in less than ten minutes. The pic of the chicks isn't the best, (kinda hidden behind a piece of bark just about the same color as the chicks) but I didn't want to hang around too long so that she could come back and sit on her babies.
