My poor lime tree. This year is the first time it REALLY produced, but the excess rain and high winds have taken a toll. Several months back, I looked out the window and it was leaning at a 45% angle. I tied it up to the fence, and after about six weeks, figured it would be OK, so I untied it. Several weeks after that I looked out the window, and it was laying on the ground. I tied it to the fence, and also tied it to two stakes to stabilize it and also did some pruning. But the last storm system that went through had it leaning again. Through all of this, the tree seemed fine, but I felt that some drastic pruning was in order to take some weight off of it, and hopefully keep it alive. Before and after pics.
PS. I lost 36 immature limes in the process, but it still has something like 60 or 70 limes left.
