TBD on Ning

My heart is broken as I pass along the news that our beloved Dyslexic Dodger/Susan (Suzan) Beatrice Brink passed away in April, 2024. She was a very close and dear friend who brought years of love, laughter, wisdom, understanding, encouragement, sassiness, sunshine, and just plain fun into my life and into the lives of many original TBD folks and newer members. She will be deeply, deeply missed.

Obituary

Susan B. Brink, age 67 of Addison, New York, passed away at home in April of 2024. She was born on May 26, 1956, in Bath, New York, to Francis and Patricia Brink. Susan was a graduate of Hammondsport Central School.

Susan enjoyed carpentry, music, gardening and being out in nature, and creating art through her drawings, poetry, and short stories.

Susan was known for her deep love and caring for the animals around her, the animals she rescued, the pets she lived with, and those she encountered in her valley. She often said her valley was her home--her source of peace and happiness.

Those who knew her well enjoyed her home cooking and having lively discussions with her. She was generous and compassionate and would do anything in her power to help a friend or stranger in need. She will be dearly missed for her generous nature and compassionate heart.

Susan is survived by her sister Jo Anne ( Keith Massel) Brink of CA; niece: Rebecca Brink of CA, Lauran Swanger of NJ, Melissa Brink of NJ; nephew: David (Lauren) Brink of MA; sister in law: Bonnie Brink of NJ.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by brother: Leon R. Brink.

It was Susan's wish that there be no services.

Thank you, J.  Suzan would have loved this photo.

Sorry to hear this.

In Suzan’s memory…what to say? I knew her originally as Dyslexic Dodger and later as Suzan. We later learned that we were both from Upstate New York and often kept up through Angharad. She was a fighter and an “overcomer”, an animal lover, and an observer of life with an acerbic wit. She was also an artist who produced beautiful works. Although life and fate were not kind to her she was a passionate and compassionate person. She will be missed.

Lovely words, Dr. Dave. You know they would have made Suzan happy. She thought the world of you.❤️
