TBD on Ning

I've loved that little bugger since forever, and yesterday I bought a copy of 'the collected stories and poems of winnie the pooh." It's for my grandson but right now I'm on chapter 3 and will finish it before sending.  Who are you reading now?

I love Pooh. Still. One of my favorite words is blustery :-)

Right now I'm reading a book titled The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester.
Great title! And I like the word 'blustery' too. Pooh is filled with wonderful words like that.
I'm reading "Magdalene" by Angela Hunt.
Do you like it? Is it good?
It's kinda like a "what if", isn't it? If she hadn't become a prostitute this is how her life may have been?
It's a work of fiction, so I think it is just speculation at best. Haven't got far enough into it yet to tell. I will let you know more later...
Baldwin's Harlem by Herb Boyd. This was one of those Border's books on the $3.99 table, and it hasn't held my interest at all. There's a reason it was only $3.99!
I've done that more times than I can count.
Now, it's even worse, we have a new book store that sells mostly used books that were donated by people--there's a reason why they were given away ;-)
Been there too Stir. I give a book two chapters to capture my interest. If it hasn't succeeded by then, I figure it's not going to. Into the recycle bin it goes :)
I'm trying to finish two or three books I bought off the bargain table. I'm stubborn, I guess, and want to get my money's worth (or maybe I'm just cheap....see Quinn's current question). Eventually I'll finish them, and move on to the better stuff. And I think its time to move on to the library again, and borrow, rather than buy, for a while.
I always liked the voice of pooh. Liked watching him tap his head saying "think, think, think,"

Not a Pooh lover here. Too many plays with it and my name for me to have any affection for that. Plus the cartoon voices always got on my nerves.

You have to read him...he was a pretty clever lil bear.

I can relate to his thoughts on spelling":

My spelling is Wobbly. It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.

And, perhaps, this would have answered your poetry question:

Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.
