I heard an interesting piece on NPR today. The subject was about what happens to your internet domains after you leave this celestial plain.
One caller had a brother that died recently and she contacted his known internet stops and they happily changed his password so she could notify them of his passing...which I thought was rather surprising!
One caller asked if having an internet 'wake' was appropriate...starting a page on some site to honor the deceased.
Some one else remarked about keeping passwords in a safe deposit box and having the executor follow a directive about what to do with the internet world.
Yet another stated that it was human order for when one passes from this earth to let it all go.....
Yet, I do question that how long does a site remain active and how would you feel if you got notices from FB to 'reconnect' with some one you know is really gone?
Just wondering...when we are gone....how really gone are we?
