.......o'er ta Upper......say yah to da U.P., eh?

In other words, I'm taking a couple of days to go to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Its one of my favorite places, and its only about three hours from my home.

Do you have a favorite place to visit....a place known by a nickname or local phrase?

Ok, lets hear about it......I'll be back on line soon, and I hope to find some interesting places described here....places I might want to visit.

I love going to the "shore".
In this part of the country we don't go to the beach, we go to the shore.

Have fun Stir ;-)

[And, while some people think we talk funny here, I beg to differ. Yo!]
<-----------------------ah, fuhgedaboudit! I'm one guido who knows da shore! LOL! See ya!
The Farm
Shouldn't there be a "Funny" in there someplace?
Come to the farm, I pay $10 an hour, lodging, meals, kolaches and all the beer you can drink after dark. My help showed up at 2:00 pm yesterday and quit after an hour.
I go to the 'big lake"...take a wild guess where that is!!
Actually my favorite place to go is home....I just love my little piece of the planet. I do wish I had the opportunity to travel more....I don't really care where...I just love the adventure.
Have fun "up North"....Did you know there is a place called "Spread Eagle" up there? Just thought you should know...:-D
Uh huh.....been there before. Got a tour of Fort Worth and some other notable spots..;-D
George and I like to go to "the mountains." That's where our cabin is in northern PA.
Well, it's beach out this waaay, out West. Pt Lobos is my favorite spot. Used to be whaling and abalone territory. Spectacular cliffs with a view and lots of scuba diving going on around there. Beaucoup sea lions.

So, do uppity y-uppies live in U-Perland, Gary?
In any case, enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Why use to be, did the whales and abalone disappear? Guess the killer whales learned the route, they're badboys.... and girls! LOL
Going 'Down The Throat'. The Throat was a steep hill in town - at the bottom of the hill was the only bar in town. From the top of the hill it really looked like you were going down a throat - the bar being the tonsils.
